Connection, Creativity and Change: Advertising Week Europe Reflections (Part 1) What an energising few days at Advertising Week Europe. It was brilliant to reconnect with so many industry peers, meet new faces, and absorb some of the most progressive thinking shaping the future of marketing. Across packed sessions and buzzing conversations, a few big themes kept surfacing: 1. #AI is evolving everything – but creativity and authenticity still win. From campaign measurement to media planning and content production, AI is accelerating how we work. But as echoed in the B2B panel on authenticity, what really resonates is still human: emotion, distinctiveness and bold storytelling. I feel inspired could talk about this topic all day! 2. #Attention is the key currency. Whether it’s gaming platforms like Roblox editorial environments, or high impact visual spaces like WeTransfer, marketers are shifting their focus from viewability to true engagement. Ads that earn attention—by being relevant, well-placed, and creatively strong, are delivering better outcomes. 3. The lines between #B2B and #B2C are blurring. Great marketing is great marketing. Brand, performance, trust, and emotional connection matter as much in B2B as in consumer campaigns. Sessions from Lenovo, Dell, and others showed how AI, media, and brand can come together powerfully. 4. #Culture and #technology must move together. Whether it’s sustainability in food retail, responsible alcohol marketing, or inclusive finance, the most effective brands are those who fuse cultural relevance with innovation, making tech feel human. This is the first of a short series of reflections from the event, where I’ll dig into key takeaways and what they mean for how we help our clients grow at Beettoo, through intelligent, effective, and performance-led marketing. We've just launched our 🔍 'Q3 Market Intelligence' report for the hashtag #CreativeIndustries - and despite all the “noise”, there are plenty of reasons to stay positive. Here are a few of our key takeaways: 💸 UK economy seems to be turning the corner - the International Monetary Fund expects the UK to be among the fastest-growing economies this year; and we’re also seeing a 4% rise in money supply, signalling growing investment and confidence across markets. 📈 Hiring momentum is returning - permanent roles rose 10% in Q3, while FTC contracts doubled. Freelance softened slightly (as it tends to seasonally), but remains vital to the creative economy. 🫂 Client optimism is improving - 47% of clients are planning to hire, up from 45% earlier this year. It’s a modest uptick, but combined with broader economic signals, it shows businesses are starting to look beyond short-term challenges.
