We recently organized a Digitalization & Computerization Workshop — a major step toward modernizing healthcare delivery for Hajj pilgrims at the mission. We explored how the TOGAF ADM principles translate directly into our cloud strategy, specifically addressing: 1. Cloud Governance (The "How"): We mapped our cloud-native designs to the Target Application and Technology Architectures, ensuring standardization and cost optimization. 2. The Digital Wrapper Blueprint (The "Why"): We used architectural views to communicate how decoupling our new cloud services from the legacy core ensures agility without compromising stability—a critical C-level mandate. at GDG On Campus - Benha University was a total marathon for the Flutter Track. The goal was clear from the start: we weren’t just there to explain code; we were there to build a developer's mindset and ship real products. Here’s how our 6-day journey went down: 📌 Day 1: We kicked things off with Dart. We had to lay the foundation, covering everything from Syntax to Advanced Concepts so we could stand on solid ground. 📌 Day 2: We got serious with OOP. We broke down what objects and classes really mean and how to write clean, reusable code. 📌 Day 3: The real fun began with Flutter. We started stacking Widgets, understood Layouts, and got hands-on. 📌 Day 4: We leveled up and focused on UI Design. We built a Login Page and a WhatsApp.UI, focusing heavily on making interfaces dynamic and professional. 📌 Day 5: We had to wrap up the teaching with a full application. We combined everything we learned to build a fully functional Calculator App. It was an amazing feeling seeing everyone capable of building complete logic on their own. 📌 Day 6: The Grand Finale 🔥. This day was all about seeing the fruits of that hard work, and people honestly blew me away in the final competition with Instagram clone. Big shoutout to every single one of the Flutter Members who showed up with passion to learn, and to the GDG Benha team and ‏Said Elhadidi for pulling off such organized work. Gotta be honest here, the overall "course business" industry is a massive farce in our country. People are exploited way too much and end up learning way too little than what they expected. It's much better to engage in self learning and find a good mentor if possible.

I just finished an incredible session from The Professional Talks featuring AI expert Muhammad Qasim, and the insights were a wake-up call for anyone in the tech and education space. We often hear about Generative AI, but we rarely talk about where it’s actually going. Here is the breakdown of the shift from "tools" to "teammates": 📈 The Evolution of Intelligence We are currently transitioning through the 5 Levels of AGI: * Level 1 (The Conversationalist): We’ve mastered talking to machines (NLP/NLG). * Level 2 (The Reasoner): This is the current frontier. With Chain of Thought (CoT) processing, AI isn't just predicting the next word; it’s reasoning through complex logic like a human expert. 💡 Key Takeaway for Professionals If you think your field is "AI-proof," think again. From civil engineering to PhD-level research, the integration of Reinforcement Learning means machines are learning from their "mistakes" (rewards/penalties) just like we do. 🎓 The Death of General Education The biggest disruption? For a long time, conversations on emerging technologies have largely been shaped by a small number of countries, institutions, and companies. What felt different in this week’s Stakeholder Consultation on the Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence Governance was the growing visibility of perspectives from across the Global South. As someone representing academia from Pakistan, I found it genuinely meaningful to witness researchers, policymakers, educators, and civil society actors from developing regions contributing not as observers, but as substantive voices in the discussion. I was invited to speak from my perspective as Head of the Software Engineering Department at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), and also as a female academic and mentor working closely with students and professionals from marginalized communities. During my intervention, I reflected on a reality many universities in developing countries understand very well: talent is widely distributed, but opportunity and infrastructure are not. Across the Global South, universities are preparing future AI researchers, engineers, and policymakers while simultaneously navigating: -> limited computing resources, -> restricted access to frontier AI systems, -> insufficient research infrastructure, -> linguistic underrepresentation, -> and unequal digital access. These are not peripheral challenges. They directly influence who gets to contribute to AI innovation, whose knowledge is reflected in datasets and benchmarks, and ultimately whose realities are considered when global standards are developed. I emphasized the importance of investing in: -> shared research infrastructure, -> open educational resources, -> multilingual and culturally inclusive AI systems, -> locally relevant datasets and evaluation frameworks, -> and stronger South–South collaboration. I also highlighted that inclusion in AI governance cannot only mean representation at discussion tables. It must also mean enabling institutions in developing countries to participate meaningfully in research, standard-setting, safety evaluations, and innovation ecosystems. One particularly encouraging aspect of the consultation was hearing similar concerns echoed by participants from different regions. There was a clear recognition that equitable AI governance requires more than high-level principles; it requires long-term investment in capacity, access, and participation. As these conversations move forward, I hope academia, especially from developing countries, continues to be treated not as a secondary stakeholder, but as an essential partner in shaping responsible and globally relevant AI futures.
