Dee Weir shared thisA great opportunity to join our RedLaw Recruitment team to help build our business services and risk & compliance desks and work alongside Ria Deboise. We also offer a fantastic referral scheme if you can recommend anyone who might be interested. Nicola Smith, Ria Deboise or myself would welcome confidential dicussions about the role and what we have to offer at RedLaw. You can view more details below.Dee Weir shared thisAre you an experienced Business Services legal recruiter who is looking for more? More: • access to leading law firms and senior decision-makers • warm relationships and continual incoming mandates • autonomy and trust to develop your desk properly • meaningful, relationship-led recruitment rather than volume KPIs • a respected platform that elevates your profile in the market • collaboration rather than internal competition • flexibility and a grown-up working environment • the opportunity to genuinely shape and grow something long term. At RedLaw, we’ve built a business around exactly that. We’re now expanding our Business Services division and looking for an experienced senior recruiter to work alongside our specialist Risk & Compliance desk and help grow complementary Business Services areas across private practice law firms. Dee Weir shared thisTen years at RedLaw Recruitment this month. A milestone I’m incredibly proud to be celebrating. I joined in 2016 and genuinely never imagined quite how much the business and my own role would evolve over the next decade. A few highlights from the last 10 years… • Consecutive awards finalist recognitions across multiple industry award schemes, including 5 wins at the Recruiter Awards, alongside 2 wins and Highly Commended achievements at the Global Recruiter Awards • Celebrated RedLaw's 15 year anniversary back in 2024 (and baked all the cakes!) • Seen RedLaw achieve multiple record-breaking years since the business was founded in 2009 • Helped evolve the RedLaw brand with new imagery, values, positioning and strapline • Worked on two websites (the latest soon to be launched) • Been part of 4 office moves as the business has grown • Introduced new internal initiatives around benefits, reward & recognition and company communications • Helped launch our new Career Pathway Framework • Became a Trustee as part of our transition to Employee Ownership • Organised multiple Inner Circle in-person events and webinars for legal HR and recruitment leaders • Then navigated the sudden shift to Zoom during Covid whilst homeschooling two children (and yes… taking a Zoom call involving a goat - they were crazy times!) • Coordinated and produced multiple filmed Spotlight interviews with law firm leaders and industry figures • Continued investing in my own development along the way, including completing a Mini MBA in Brand Management • Making memories at countless team socials over the years from mini golf and paddle to escape rooms and our 10% lunches • Been lucky enough to earn a 4-week sabbatical to celebrate my 10-year anniversary (exciting to plan how I’m going to spend this) • Most importantly, met some incredible people and made friendships I know will last a lifetime. What probably means the most though is the trust I’ve been given throughout all of this. From day one, Amy Hambleton and Jonathan Benjamin backed me, supported me and gave me the freedom to build a career whilst also raising a family, something I’ve never taken for granted. I’m also hugely inspired by the people I work alongside every day. The knowledge, professionalism, expertise and genuine care across the team is a massive part of what makes RedLaw what it is. Ten years later, I still feel hugely proud to be part of the journey. Here’s to the next chapter.

Dee Weir shared thisBehind the scenes at Arnold & Porter with London Managing Partner Kathleen Harris. Thirty floors up with incredible views across London, but even more impressive was the conversation itself. We spoke about Kathleen’s journey from her first Saturday job through to becoming a barrister and now Managing Partner, the skills she’s developed in leadership, the importance of owning mistakes, calling out bad behaviour within the industry, the advancement of women in law, mentorship and the advice she would give to younger lawyers building their careers today. A thoughtful, honest and hugely insightful discussion and one we can’t wait to share soon as part of our Spotlight interview series. Watch this space for the full episode and make sure to sign up to our Spotlight newsletter so you don’t miss an edition. Thanks as always to Will Colthup.

Dee Weir shared thisA really fun day filming and shooting new photos for the RedLaw Recruitment website. Alongside the photos, we were also filming a series of videos, including “why RedLaw” and some pieces around our culture and what it’s actually like to work here day to day. Being in front of the camera isn’t always the most comfortable, but I think we got there, so thanks to the entire team for your support. Lots of laughs, a few retakes, and a good reminder of how great this team is to work with. Thanks as always to Will Colthup and Arthur Ambler for making it feel easy and getting the best out of everyone. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Dee Weir shared thisThat’s a wrap. The Global Recruiter - The independent voice of the staffing industry awards submissions filed and done. After weeks of pulling together stories, case studies, stats and results and speaking with clients and candidates to gather fresh testimonials, I just hope I’ve managed to truly capture what the team does, and bring that to life for the judges; the career-defining moves for lawyers; the role we play in the growth of law firms; the depth of relationships built over years; the skill and care that goes into true executive search, and so on. And doing it all in a way that’s ethical, considered and genuinely advisory. I see how good the RedLaw Recruitment team is every day. This process just forces you to try and put it into words. We were proud to be finalists last year across two categories, and Amy’s been recognised as winner of Best Permanent Consultant (twice, in 2022 and 2023). So, now we wait and hope we make the shortlist and see if we can bring home the trophies this year!

Dee Weir shared thisCheers to these two absolute diamonds! The team behind the scenes. For National Administrative Professionals Day, I wanted to give a shoutout to Nicola Smith and Talia Tighe-Neal. They are the engine behind everything we do at RedLaw. The back office, the admin, the CRM, invoicing, finance, meetings, recruitment processes, social events, fruit & snacks, pen ordering (ha ha), the team breakfasts, birthdays and thoughtful gifts for the team … all the things that keep the business running smoothly (and all the things most people never see). And not to mention, a certain escape room mastermind in the team… you know which one you are. The care, effort and attention they put into everything they do, it never goes unnoticed. They somehow manage to keep everything organised, everyone on track, and still be the people you go to when you need help, perspective, or a sounding-board for projects and ideas. They’re a huge support to me in my marketing role and I'm genuinely lucky to call them life-long friends too (sorry, no getting rid of me now). It’s easy for this kind of work to go unnoticed because when it’s done well, everything just works. But it doesn’t happen by accident, it’s down to them. We hope you both know how much you’re appreciated by all of us RedLaw Recruitment, not just for what you do, but for the part you play in the team every day and the fun, laughter and support you bring.

Dee Weir shared thisIn Amy Hambleton’s recent conversation with David Quli, he said that when people talk about technology, it can feel quite threatening. And that’s understandable. But actually, there’s a huge amount of opportunity in it. You can see that reflected in how Wiggin operates as a firm. David talks about approaching things with a more entrepreneurial mindset, supporting innovation and continuing to adapt as the sectors they work in evolve across media, technology, sport and IP. It’s a practical way of looking at how a law firm develops alongside its clients. This clip touches on that and how David is thinking about it. The link to the full Spotlight interview where he also chats about culture, relationships, leadership and more, is in the comments below.

Dee Weir shared thisLet’s go MiniMBA! Really excited to finally be starting the Mini MBA in Brand Management with Mark Ritson. Brand is such a big part of what I do at RedLaw from how we position ourselves in the market, to how we communicate what we stand for and the work we do, both externally and internally. So it feels like the right time to properly step back and sharpen my thinking around it all. Looking forward to getting stuck into the next 12 weeks and (hopefully) coming out the other side a lot smarter on everything branding.

Dee Weir shared thisSubmissions are in for this year’s Recruiter Awards! A lot of time has gone into pulling everything together over the last few weeks writing about some of the more complex and challenging searches we’ve worked on, as well as the level of service our team delivers day to day to both clients and candidates. When you step back and put it all down on paper, what really stands out is the consistency. The care taken with candidates making big, often life-changing decisions. The guidance, support and honest advice given throughout. The depth of knowledge across the team, particularly at partner level. And alongside that, the impact on our clients, working closely with law firms to support their growth through often headline partner and team moves. All supported by a strong one-team approach across the business, from EA and Operations through to Marketing. It’s also been a chance to reflect on Jonathan Benjamin and Amy Hambleton’s leadership and why they continue to be recognised in the Agency Leader of the Year category, with Amy a finalist over the past two years and hopefully now this year too. We’ve been fortunate to be finalists in the Best Professional Services Agency category every year since 2020, winning in 2020 and again in the last two years. Everything crossed to make it three in a row. Coming up to 10 years at RedLaw Recruitment, I can honestly say I’m just as proud to be part of the business now as I was when I joined, working alongside people who are genuinely experts in what they do. Amy Hambleton, Jonathan Benjamin, Anna McCormack, Jason Mann, Jun Lee, Ingeborg Regeur, Danny Glebocki, Ria Deboise, Nicola Smith, Talia Tighe-Neal

Dee Weir liked thisDee Weir liked this1000 people didn’t see your LinkedIn post (their thumb did). LinkedIn counts it as an “impression” when your post is 50% visible on someone’s screen for 300 milliseconds. That’s barely a blink. So when the LinkedIn influencers post that meme showing you what 1000 people in a crowd looks like, just remember, most of them are scrolling their phones looking for the next dopamine hit. I get why people share that stuff, encouraging you to be consistent, building people up, all good things. But there’s a difference between encouragement and just not being honest. The only metrics I actually care about are profile views and DMs. Profile views mean someone read your post and thought “who is this person?” That’s curiosity. That’s your content doing something. DMs mean someone read your post and felt compelled enough to start a conversation. That’s where work comes from. Impressions just tell you your post existed on a screen for a third of a second. I’d rather get 200 impressions where 50 people actually read the thing than 2000 where nobody stopped.

Dee Weir reacted on thisIt comes as no surprise to me whatsoever, but I am incredibly proud to see our firm recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list. Having spent 18 years here, I’ve had the privilege of seeing the firm grow and evolve, but what has remained constant is the strength of our culture and the way our people support and challenge each other to be at their best. Leading such a dedicated People team, one that drives real impact across the firm, makes this recognition even more meaningful to me. It reflects a collective commitment to building a high-performing, collaborative and genuinely supportive and happy place to work. It really is a special place, and I feel very proud to be part of it. Thank you to everyone across the firm who makes it what it is. https://lnkd.in/e8dT7nwF #BestPlacesToWork #PeopleAndCulture #CultureDee Weir reacted on thisWe are incredibly proud to have been named as one of the Best Places to Work in the UK for 2026 by The Sunday Times, powered by WorkL. This nationwide workplace survey celebrates Britain’s top employers and is widely seen as the most comprehensive analysis of workplace engagement, culture, and satisfaction in the UK. As our Managing Partner Matt Meyer says ”Being named in the list among so many great employers is a wonderful achievement. It has been earned through the tremendous efforts of every single person here, who all go out of their way to make sure that wellbeing, kindness and inclusivity aren't just talked about, but woven into the fabric of our firm.” For more details about the Sunday Times Best Places to Work awards, click here. https://lnkd.in/erpBvH8E

Most recruitment businesses treat a sub-brand launch as a single day of noise. A press release, some social posts, maybe a webinar if they are feeling ambitious. Then they move on. The problem is that this approach delivers a spike of attention followed by silence. And silence does not build commercial traction. The launches that actually work treat PR as a sustained programme. They identify two or three narrative pillars backed by real evidence. They build a launch pack with tailored materials for different audiences. They plan media activity that stretches across months, not hours. Apple does not launch an iPhone and forget about it the next day. The same principle applies whether you are launching an outsourced recruitment offering, an executive search division, or a new technology platform. If you are planning a launch in 2026, our latest blog covers the full approach: https://hubs.la/Q03W209R0

Contract placements can unlock huge growth opportunities for recruitment agencies 📈 While many agencies begin with permanent recruitment, contract placements can provide more consistent revenue, stronger client relationships and improved business stability. Unlike permanent fees, contract income continues every week the contractor remains on assignment 💡 There’s often a perception that contract recruitment is complicated, but with the right financial support and structure in place, it can become a valuable part of an agency’s growth strategy. At MAYACHI, we help recruitment agencies understand the financial side of contract recruitment and how to make it work successfully. Managing Partners' Forum
3K followers
'The HR Director role is changing — and the pace of change is accelerating. This was a clear theme from a discussion with HR Directors at the Managing Partners’ Forum PPC session this week. What emerged strongly from the conversation was how the role is shifting. Less about compliance and process, and increasingly about anticipating issues before they arise. Boards are looking to HR leaders for reassurance, judgement and foresight — not simply managing problems once they appear. One participant described the role as requiring “bifocal vision”, which resonated across the group. HR leaders need to zoom out and stay alive to global events, societal tensions, regulatory change and technological disruption, while at the same time zooming in to understand employee experience and the increasingly blurred boundaries between work and personal life. Culture featured heavily in the discussion. Not as something abstract, but something leaders must actively shape — and sometimes prune. One question that particularly stuck with the group was: “What is the worst behaviour we are willing to tolerate?” Because culture isn’t simply what organisations say it is. It’s what they allow. Another honest reflection from the conversation was just how psychologically demanding the HRD role has become. Leaders are constantly moving between operational detail and strategic judgement, often without perfect information. That makes it even more important for HR leaders to look after themselves if they are going to perform at their best. Participants talked about the importance of creating space to think, stepping away from the constant noise of the diary, maintaining trusted relationships for perspective and paying attention to the signals our bodies give when energy is being drained. None of it complicated — but all of it important. Because in a world of increasing complexity, organisations don’t need HR leaders who simply follow process. They need HR leaders who can exercise judgement. And that starts with making sure we’re at our best too. #HRLeadership #FutureOfHR #OrganisationalCulture'
