My post about PMM org design last year got a lot of people talking... I even saw it getting some hate in a PMM community (I was honestly so proud). Here's how my team structure is actually shaking out this year. I have a super talented team that has naturally found some lanes that they thrive in, so I decided to lean into that and put our focus in two big areas. 1. GTM Sometimes I hate the acronym "GTM" because everyone uses it differently -- even internally. But what we mean by it in PMM is all the ins and outs of literally taking new products to the market. AKA -- getting something from BUILT to BOUGHT. And obviously leaning heavily on every single department in the business to do their part. Some things we are doing on this side of the org this year are: -- updated positioning and messaging -- revamping the launch process -- improving internal product comms -- making content sales and CS actually use -- making the customer and the way they use our product a bigger part of everything we make 2. Customer Marketing There has been a lot of good work around PMM supporting customers but we just hadn't formalized it or called it what it is. This side of the org is laser focused on our customers and our competitors (because how our customers perceive our competitors is way more important than how WE do). Here we will be successful when we support renewals, improve competitive win rates, and see our advocacy signals improving. Some things we are doing on this side are: -- making our CAB the best in the business -- creating a meaningful customer community -- supporting some sneaky competitive campaigns -- helping have a record year of renewals -- continuing to be highly referenced, award-winning, and respected in our industry Creating the swim lanes is one thing... establishing goals, figuring out how to measure those... making sure we're only doing what is going to make the business succeed. It's no joke! But I love it. Now I'm deep in operationalizing, making more efficient, and finding the areas where AI can help us most. As more states pass fee transparency laws, operators need to disclose the all-in monthly cost upfront across every prospect conversation and every renewal. Hello new omoomi: Same mission, advanced solutions As an only child, my mother is my entire world. She is also far away. For years I told myself I had it handled. Video calls on Sundays. A shared calendar with her doctor's appointments. A neighbor I'd text when the anxiety got loud enough. What I actually had was a system held together by guilt and good luck. When Ben and I started omoomi, we were building for families under pressure. We just didn't realize we were building for ourselves. The pivot happened the way the best decisions do. Not in a boardroom. In the quiet accumulation of conversations with caregivers who kept saying the same thing in different words: "I love my parent. I just can't keep doing this alone." I have said those exact words, more than once actually. So we made a decision that scared us a little, which is usually how you know it's right. We stopped building for one end of the family and started building for the whole of it. Today omoomi launches Guardian Hub: the world's first AI-native care operating system for elders. Proactive emotional companionship. Invisible health monitoring. Autonomous execution of the logistics that quietly consume caregivers alive. Everything I wished existed on the nights I couldn't sleep for worrying about my mom. This one is personal. For me. For Ben. For every only child, every long-distance daughter, every exhausted son who is doing their best and knows it isn't enough. It is going to be enough now.

44% of agencies are turning away referrals not because of lack of demand, but because they don’t have the caregivers. That’s not a referral problem. That’s a capacity problem. The question is: how do you keep caregivers engaged? It doesn’t take a giant initiative. Start small: -Record a quick shoutout video with a caregiver in the field and share it with the crew. -Grab their ‘favorites list’ at onboarding (coffee, snacks, candy) and surprise them down the road. -Rotate a simple check-in call once a week from leadership, just to ask how they’re doing, not to add tasks. Little moves like these stack up. After spending years inside Seed, Series A, B, and C environments, I’ve learned something important: Each stage teaches you a different part of what it means to build (and rebuild) a company from the ground up. Before Series A, no one has ever heard of the company, and as a leader you have to spend time creatively outbounding to find great potential hires. At C, you’re suddenly inundated with thousands of applications, and you have to sift through them to find the gold. Before Series A, you’re forced to ruthlessly prioritize your product roadmap because design and engineering resources are so limited. At C, you have to ruthlessly prioritize because you have 10+ exec stakeholders who each absolutely need their new feature launched this quarter to hit their KPIs. Each step and stage comes with its own challenges and its own version of “fun.” We’re still early days at Breksey, but I couldn’t be more grateful for the chance to share the lessons, the wins, and the mistakes that pushed me toward becoming a founder.

Something feels off with management right now. I’ve spent the last few weeks talking to managers, founders, and engineering leaders across tech, and the pattern is hard to ignore. Yeah, the pace of change is fast. But the DNA of what it means to be a manager is changing faster— much faster than the systems, tools, and expectations around it. Today's managers are holding more uncertainty, translating more decisions they didn’t make, and helping teams navigate pretty seismic shifts without any new authority or support. Non-profits always get a bad rap for being slow to adapt, not innovative, etc... Not at Learn To Be!! Our AI bot (Simby) lives in our Slack and helps us do a ton of cool stuff. Not things like "draft me an email", but more like "create a pull request to fix this bug in our donor database" Don't know what a pull request is? I didn't either! But Simby does. So you don't need to know...you just need a Simby Send me questions! We're thinking about helping other non-profits build this too.

Hot take: If your "integration strategy" is "we'll use an iPaaS platform," you don't have a strategy—you have a subscription. I know I've been critiquing swivel chair integrations on here, but middleware is equally ineffecient in an entirely different way. Middleware platforms work until they don't. Then you're stuck paying monthly fees for something that doesn't quite fit. Custom code means you own it. You control it. You're not held hostage by a vendor's roadmap. There's a difference.

Your job isn’t to manage software. Your job is to fund your mission. If your to-do list says things like: - Find funders aligned with our new program - Submit two grant applications before the 15th - Figure out how to pay next quarter’s staff ...then why are nonprofit platforms pitching features like “modular permissioning” and “drag-and-drop dashboards”? Here’s an interesting Clay use case: using it to move from feature‑led messaging to solution‑led. In my second week at AlayaCare, Bhavesh Mistry asked me to map a new market and propose a messaging framework. Context: I knew nothing about health tech. So I asked for a 1‑month Clay subscription and used it to: - Analyze ~700 websites for how these orgs describe themselves and the outcomes they promise - Pull PR mentions and reports where they showed up - Map leaders and find podcasts/blogs where they explain how they think Three themes kept repeating. Those became the spine of the first messaging draft, and we went from “no context” to a solid draft in ~15 days. That made it much easier to: - Ground our messaging in real pains that keep these orgs up at night - Segment the market in a way that matched how they see themselves - Connect our product to outcomes instead of shipping a list of features Clay is still great for outbound. But using it for market mapping + pattern‑spotting has quickly become one of my favorite PMM workflows.

Last week, I sat in on a client's team meeting and had this realisation: "This is a well-run business!" Not that everything was smooth. But there was clarity and purpose in the room - everyone knew their numbers, could see each other's numbers, and were sharing what actually worked. A year ago?
