Exciting news for London's life sciences community 🔬 MHRA and the NHS in London are launching a new collaborative partnership to support responsible innovation across our capital's health and care system. We're looking to create the London Innovation Sandbox – a safe, structured space where health system innovators can collaborate with regulators. By working together in a collaborative environment, we aim to accelerate innovations that address genuine challenges facing London's health and care system. London faces complex health challenges: high demand on services, widening health inequalities, and new technologies rapidly outpacing traditional pathways. Meeting these challenges requires new ways of working. What this means for innovators: Our sandbox approach will help identify and remove barriers earlier, providing faster clarity on regulatory requirements, NHS adoption and spread, data needs, and clinical evaluation pathways. We're creating a more supportive, predictable environment that helps innovators understand what good looks like from the start. The MHRA is already exploring opportunities to expand this model with other regional innovation hubs across the UK. This partnership represents an important step towards a broader, UK-wide approach to regulatory support – helping accelerate safe pathways to adoption whilst maintaining the highest standards. Together, we're building an innovation ecosystem that puts patients and the public first. The result? Quicker access to safe, effective, and innovative solutions that can genuinely improve patients’ lives. #LondonLifeSciencesWeek #HealthInnovation #NHS #LifeSciences #RegulatoryScience

Chaired a brilliant round table on Wednesday at CG Professional’s office in the Albert Dock. Liverpool is a city I know well from my university days and it was special to return, this time for work rather than study. I can personally vouch for what the business leaders around the table said about the people there. They’re loyal and authentic, forming a huge part of what makes Liverpool such a strong place to build and grow a business. We had some extremely insightful and intelligent conversations, exploring the big themes shaping the future, including AI, cyber security, hybrid working, sport and wellbeing. But we also had a laugh along the way, especially when the concept of 'padel tinder' came up. The table featured a fantastic mix of voices, including Dan Gillbanks of Roadtrip Hospitality, the team behind PINS in Liverpool (and soon Manchester), and Chris Watson, co-founder of Ignite Padel, who are helping grow the sport in the city. We also heard from fascinating tech businesses such as Amicis Group, Yoctobe and MyCardium AI, who are doing brilliant work in cyber security, AI and healthcare. Huge thanks to all the leaders who shared their insights and to CG for hosting us and supplying some truly excellent pastries. Excited to have joined the Liverpool Ones to Watch Round Table at the Edward Pavilion! We had a great discussion on adapting to change, building resilient businesses, and harnessing technology in the Liverpool City Region. At Yoctobe, we’re passionate about innovating in healthcare AI and SaMD risk management, and it was inspiring to share ideas with local business leaders and learn from their experiences. A big thank you to everyone who attended — looking forward to future collaboration and driving innovation across the region! #LiverpoolBusiness #Innovation #HealthcareAI #SaMD #Yoctobe #Collaboration

📣 Update on the Post-market Surveillance Regulations: From 16 October 2025 all medical device manufacturers must use the new Great Britain (GB) data schemas to report safety incidents about medical devices to the MHRA. The new GB data schemas must be used when submitting Manufacturer Incident Reports (MIRs) and Field Safety Corrective Action reports (FSCAs) to the MHRA for medical devices in use in GB. This follows the new Post-market Surveillance Regulations, which came into effect on 16 June, to provide more safety information on medical devices in use across England, Scotland and Wales. The new regulations enable the MHRA and the whole health system to manage risks and contain safety issues swiftly, to better protect patients. The technical implementation period for the new reporting requirements ends on 16 October. From this date the new GB data schemas must be used for all reports to the MHRA on the Manufacturers Online Reporting Environment (MORE) portal. 📌 Find out more: Documentation for implementation of data requirements under the new Post-Market Surveillance regulations - https://bit.ly/4gQ185q MORE implementation - https://bit.ly/46yVMbm 📧 For questions about testing in the MORE portal, email: AIC@mhra.gov.uk

Watch how Yoctobe makes real-time medical data flow work. An analyser sends HL7 messages, our middleware intercepts them, converts them into JSON, and updates the SQL database instantly (SQL, Rest/SOAP APIs). Results appear in the LIMS without delay. This is not theory—this is real interoperability, live, reliable, and adaptable. Yoctobe turns complex medical data into actionable information, fast.
-
We developed a simplified user-friendly and affordable LIMS system - We built and deployed the project to Microsoft Azure UK data centres, ensuring EU/UK data residency - Implemented multi-site management with complete data isolation - Developed high-availability architecture with automatic failover - Created scalable microservices architecture supporting multiple laboratory sites https://lnkd.in/ebGh8aiJ

This #WorldPatientSafetyDay, we are proud to announce a landmark development in public health education: For the first time, the Yellow Card scheme 🔗 https://bit.ly/2A6B165 – the UK’s system for reporting side effects from medicines – is now formally included in the statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education curriculum in England. In partnership with the Department for Education, this vital safety information is reaching the next generation – giving children and young people the tools to recognise side effects, report problems, and understand how to navigate the healthcare system. The guide for children was tested rigorously with over 3,500 young people to ensure it’s clear, relevant and empowering.
