Rest assured, the future of the media industry is in good hands. Five William Reed team members lit up the stage last night at the Virgin-Hotel London Shoreditch as they were recognised as “the most exciting rising stars in the UK”. The PPA Next Gen Awards go to the top 30 rising stars under the age of 30 currently working in consumer and business media in the UK, and are decided by a panel of experts in the publishing industry. This year, William Reed had five winners - more than any other business represented: Edward Hewlett, Matthew Shore, Charlotte Reed, Max Furber and Sunneva Moore were all worthy winners - congratulations to all!

Huge shout out to our own Nic Mynott who's been shortlisted for the Emerging Talent award at FWD Gold Medal Awards 2025. One of Nic's customers, a Sales Director for a major UK supplier said: "What stands out most is how well Nic communicates with us and the level of detail that goes into those communications, he’s so personable and is always there to answer any questions we have. Thank you Nic for your support and partnership, it makes a huge difference to our team.”
Very cool surprise! I’ve been shortlisted for the Emerging Talent award at FWD Gold Medal Awards 2025. What’s your biggest sustainability challenge right now? William Reed brands Food Manufacture and Lumina Intelligence joined forces to spotlight the most significant consumer trends in sustainability, and how the food and drinks industry are responding. The 2025 report is a wake-up call and a roadmap for the food and drink sector. Here’s what stood out: 1. Carbon is still king: Emissions tracking and reduction remain top priorities, but many SMEs are still struggling to establish baselines. 2. Scope 3 is the next frontier: Supply chain emissions are under the spotlight, with pressure mounting to go beyond Scope 1 & 2. 3. Energy efficiency on the rise: Manufacturers are investing in tech and process upgrades to cut emissions and costs. 4. Packaging remains a hot topic: Recyclability and reuse are gaining traction, but infrastructure challenges persist. 5. Water usage is rising on the agenda: With climate volatility increasing, manufacturers are being urged to monitor and reduce water consumption. 6. Biodiversity is the new KPI: Forward-thinking businesses are starting to measure their impact on ecosystems, not just emissions. 7. Sustainability = resilience: Companies investing in sustainability are better positioned to weather economic and supply chain shocks. 8. Regulation is tightening: From deforestation laws to reporting directives, compliance is becoming more complex and urgent. 9. Collaboration is key: Cross-sector partnerships are emerging as a powerful tool for driving change and sharing best practice. 10. Consumers are watching: Transparency and authenticity matter more than ever. Greenwashing risks are real, and reputational damage is costly.
