Everyone in recruitment says they can find “top talent.” Almost nobody explains what that actually means. At Appexx, we’ve spent a lot of time defining it properly because the difference between a good hire and a transformational one is rarely visible from a CV alone. Here’s what we actually look at: Career trajectory: Not just tenure, but the direction and momentum behind their moves Consistency of performance: Proven quota attainment across multiple cycles, not one exceptional year Domain alignment: Have they sold into the exact buyers and environments you need them to navigate? Environment fit: Do they thrive in high-growth chaos, structured enterprise environments, or both? Leadership impact: What happened to the people and teams around them? Network credibility, who trusts them enough to follow them, recommend them, or hire them again? The interesting part is this: AI now allows us to assess all six of these dimensions simultaneously, across thousands of profiles, in a fraction of the time traditional search methods allow. A recruiter manually scanning CVs will usually only spot one or two of these signals. That’s why we believe “top 10% talent” shouldn’t be a marketing phrase. It should be something measurable, explainable, and auditable. The human side still matters enormously. But the recruiters who combine deep market understanding with AI-driven intelligence are going to outperform those relying purely on instinct over the next few years. That shift is already happening.
