"Ramadan, for me, is a spiritual reset. It is rooted in discipline, self-control, compassion, and empathy, and it goes far beyond abstaining from food and water during daylight hours. It is also a time of reflection, of stepping away from negative habits and strengthening my relationship with Allah. It is a month that asks us to slow down inwardly, even as the world around us continues at pace. Balancing Ramadan with a professional career has been a learning journey. The first few days are often the hardest as the body adjusts, but structure and intention make a real difference. I have breakfast before daylight, plan cognitively heavy tasks earlier in the day when my energy is highest, and split my breaks so I can pray, recharge, or simply step outside for fresh air. Small adjustments, like a short power nap or starting work earlier, help me stay focused while still allowing me to get home in time to break my fast. Flexible working has been instrumental in making this balance possible. Working in a hybrid model allows me to use mornings productively and, on office days, leave earlier without compromising performance. The ability to stagger breaks supports both my wellbeing and my faith. More than anything, this flexibility makes me feel seen and trusted and that, in turn, enables me to perform at my best during Ramadan. Supportive leadership and colleagues make an enormous difference. My manager proactively acknowledges Ramadan and checks in ahead of time about any adjustments I might need, without placing the emotional burden on me to initiate those conversations. Simple organisational acknowledgements also help normalise awareness. Recently, my team, entirely voluntarily and regardless of faith, organised a team fast day. It was a powerful reminder of how meaningful allyship and inclusion can be when they are lived, not performative. Ramadan strengthens my discipline, resilience, patience, and ability to listen actively. It also deepens my awareness of privilege and hardship, reminding me to remain mindful of those facing challenges in our communities and across the world all year round. True inclusion isn’t just policy, it’s something we experience every day through understanding, flexibility, and care. I am looking forward to spending some time with friends and family celebrating Eid to mark the end of Ramadan. I hope everyone observing Ramadan has a lovely Eid and embed any positive learnings to their normal routine." Anam S., Enterprise Architecture - Assurance Manager, TSB.

No More Week is an important moment to highlight the scale of domestic and economic abuse – and the help that is available on the high street. Joint research we conducted with Hestia Charity found that: - Over two thirds (68%) of people don’t know that help that is available on the high street - ONS data shows that a quarter of the population has experienced domestic abuse in their lifetime - 75% of respondents said the abuse had impacted them financially That’s why Safe Spaces are so important. They are available in some banks and pharmacies and online, giving people a place to access the support they need. As the first bank to offer them, we remain committed to making support more visible and accessible for those who need it. We are proud to partner with Hestia and raise awareness of the support available across the UK. No one should face this on their own. #NoMoreWeek #NoMore #Hestia #SafeSpaces

Here’s what four years of equal parental leave looks like – it’s not just about the policy, but the meaningful moments. Our Partnerships Manager, Oliver Bett, shares what it meant for his family: Nothing can really prepare you for your first child. Friends warn you of sleepless nights and the chaos, then smile and say, “don’t worry, it’s totally worth it…” Before Athena was born, I was focused on the birth itself. Then suddenly, you’re home and as the dad, it’s your time to step up – supporting your partner, figuring out nappy changes and mastering pump prep – almost overnight. When TSB introduced 20 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all, it felt like a nice benefit for future Oli. My fiancée clocked the value immediately. Knowing I’d be there to support her through the fears and stresses of becoming a parent made a real difference. Most dads in the UK get just 10 working days before they’re back on the commute, hoping they don’t bring home any new germs. Every family’s experience is different, but for us, the first few weeks were survival mode. Then suddenly at six weeks, you get that first smile, and everything changes. I was there for that first smile, and the second, and the hundredth. That’s thanks to a human decision, made to meaningfully support colleagues and their families. That’s why I’m #ProudToBeTSB. And for any expectant parents: “don’t worry, it’s totally worth it…”

Around 3.8 million adults experienced domestic abuse in the last year in England and Wales, and one in four of us will experience it in our lifetime. Every day, people across the UK are working to prevent violence against women and girls and to provide vital support to victim‑survivors. TSB is proud to be the lead sponsor of the inaugural Prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls Awards, recognising the leadership, courage and commitment behind this vital work. From our Safe Spaces to initiatives like the TSB Flee Fund, we’re focused on helping people access safety when they need it most. These awards recognise the individuals and organisations who share that mission. Nominations are now open. Do you know an individual, team or organisation that deserves recognition? Now’s your chance to recognise their contribution by nominating them. Visit the awards website for information on the award categories, nomination criteria and how to nominate. The deadline for nominations is 15 April 2026. Let’s shine a light on those driving change. Awards website: https://lnkd.in/eX5UtUzs #VAWG #TSB #CommunitySupport #NominationsOpen
