We're delighted to be finalists for Fund Formation Law Firm, Fund Finance Law Firm and Tax Adviser in this year's The Drawdown awards. These three short listings give us a clean sweep of nominations across the private capital lawyer categories, recognising our preeminent work for GPs and LPs. Will Normand, Head of Asset Management at Travers Smith, said: "I'm excited that this year's Drawdown nominations recognise Travers Smith's private capital group in another stand-out year. Highlights have included launching evergreen funds for the very largest asset managers across credit, private equity, secondaries and infra strategies, an innovative secondary credit transaction amongst a growing roster of other secondaries deals, the holy grail of fundraisings – a first and final close for a private equity GP and the largest closed-ended fundraising by committed capital that we have ever advised on. Our tax specialists have been especially busy given the Government's changes to carried interest tax and our Fund Finance team have worked on some of the year's most complex transactions for GPs focusing especially on structured finance (private securitisations and note issuances) and infrastructure NAV facilities. I'm particularly proud of our stellar associates and trainees across the group whose hard work and expertise makes this happen."

We’ll focus on what is actually driving transactions in the region: founder liquidity, expansion into new geographies, and the push to institutionalize firms that have grown meaningfully over the last decade. We’ll also look at the features that make European deals distinct, including cross-border partnership structures, different tax and regulatory regimes, and a manager landscape that is often more fragmented and less scaled than in the US. The speakers are well placed to lead that discussion. Renaud brings the perspective of a dedicated European GP Stakes investor as Deputy CEO and COO of ARMEN, a firm focused on GP Stakes and built around supporting private market managers with more than just capital. Victoria brings the transaction lens from across the market: at Travers Smith, she advises on minority and majority GP-stake M&A, and her deal experience spans dedicated GP Stakes funds and institutional LP buyers. Together, they can speak both to how these deals are being underwritten in Europe and how they are actually getting executed. 👉 Request to join us in NYC on April 21: https://luma.com/dpuyc419 #GPStakesNews #GPStakes Never miss a post: GPStakesNews.com Connect with me: Maxwell Greenstein

  • NSI Act Reforms Announced Later this year, the UK Government will introduce changes to the NSI Act, refining definitions in sensitive sectors like water, AI, critical minerals, semiconductors, data infrastructure, and emergency services. Exemptions for insolvency practitioners and internal reorganisations are also proposed, aiming to streamline notifications and focus on real risks.   As competition law specialists, we’re here to help you adapt to this evolving landscape. Get in touch to discuss how the new rules could affect your business.

🔍 The UK Government has released its response to its recent consultation on the National Security and Investment Act, confirming updates to the mandatory sector definitions.   🚰 Notable changes include (i) new standalone mandatory sector definitions for Water, Critical Minerals & Semiconductors; and (ii) revised definitions of Data Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence and Suppliers to emergency services.   💡These revisions mark a gradual evolution of the NSI regime - bringing greater clarity without radical change. Detailed guidance will follow, but these updates should provide businesses with more certainty moving forward.   👉 For further insight, read our full briefing here: https://lnkd.in/etTKfamk #NSIAct #UKRegulation #NationalSecurity Travers Smith Tom Davies

The survey by Legal Business, based on anonymised client feedback gathered by Legal 500, analyses which premium commercial disputes departments make the strongest impression on clients, considering team quality, value, billing and efficiency. With technical ability taken as read at the top end of the market, client service is often a key differentiator. Ranking highly across all the area which clients use to select their law firm of choice, Travers Smith comes out as the highest-scoring practice for overall client service. In an interview (https://brnw.ch/21x1714) with Eliza Winter, Heather Gagen, who leads Travers Smith's dispute resolution team, says this recognition reflects the commitment of the team to deliver truly personalised, hands-on support that puts our clients’ needs first. ‘As a firm and as a partner group, we are low ego. We collaborate with and listen to our clients, understanding what they want and how that might change over the course of a long-running mandate.’ This approach is enhanced by our full-service capability and integrated approach to contentious work, which ensures clients ‘have access to market-leading practices across the whole of the rest of the firm.’ With leading landmark cases like the $1bn Autonomy fraud claim for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, to representing Glencore’s former chairman Tony Hayward, the team continues to secure results in the most significant, high-profile UK disputes, building on the reputation as a go-to firm for major cases. #ClientService #DisputeResolution #TrustedAdvisers
