About us
Purpl's mission is to help offset the significant financial challenges faced by the disabled community, who often incur an average of £1095 in additional monthly expenses due to their disability. Driven by our founder's personal experiences, we're on a mission to help mitigate these costs through our innovative discount program. Our secure Purpl Verification Tool ensures that only verified individuals gain access to exclusive offers from brands, fostering trust and authenticity within our closed group community. But Purpl is more than just discounts; we are a hub for valuable information, signposting and inspiring stories from our community. Committed to making a broader impact, we also plan to raise funds for UK-based disabled charities, amplifying our mission to support and uplift the disabled community. Get in touch if your brand wants to help Purpl make a difference to the every day lives of the disabled community.

We’re launching something new 💜 This April, we’re introducing the Purpl Community Grant Fund (Purpl Fund) - a new initiative designed to support disabled people and families within our community. The Fund will provide support for things like: • Mobility equipment • Therapy and wellbeing support • Accessibility adaptations • Assistive technology This isn’t just another feature or campaign. It’s a step towards something much bigger. As our founder explains: “This is just the beginning. The Purpl Community Grant Fund is our first step towards creating a future foundation that can deliver real, lasting support for disabled people and their families. We’re building this carefully, but with a very big vision in mind.” To help ensure the process is fair, structured and well governed, the Fund will be supported by an advisory panel alongside the Purpl team. We’re pleased to be joined by: Sheldon McMullan and Chloe O'Toole Applications will open on 1 April, with a limited number of applications in this first round. As Purpl grows, we’re committed to reinvesting back into our community, creating support that can make a real difference in people’s day to day lives. This is just the beginning. #PurplFund #Grant #MakingADifference #DisabledCommunity

Another exciting milestone for Purpl this week as we welcome Holland & Barrett to our platform. We’re proud to be offering our members an exclusive disability discount both online and in store, helping to ease some of the financial pressure our community continues to face. Holland & Barrett is a brilliant brand, and with so many of our members regularly purchasing supplements and wellness products, this partnership feels like a natural and meaningful fit. “I’m incredibly excited about this partnership. Holland & Barrett has been on my list for a long time as a brand that truly aligns with our mission. I’m really looking forward to working closely together to make a genuine difference.” Georgina, founder #MakingADifference #DisabledCommunity #PurplPound #Inclusivity Image ID: “New brand partner” text overlaid on an image of a man lying on the grass, alongside the Holland & Barrett and Purpl logos.

Big news for us at Purpl 💜 We’re proud to share that Purpl has been featured in Entrepreneur UK’s UK100 Start-Ups 2026 list. Being included among the UK’s most exciting and innovative startups is a huge milestone for our team and our mission. The UK100 Start-Ups series highlights companies that are redefining industries and tackling big challenges across sectors, from technology to health and beyond. At Purpl, our focus is simple: helping people with disabilities and long-term health conditions save money through meaningful discounts and offers. What started as an idea to make everyday life more affordable for the disabled community has quickly grown into a platform helping thousands of people access the savings they deserve, along with advice and signposting for those starting their disabled journey. This recognition is not just for us; it’s for the community, partners and brands who believe accessibility and inclusion are essential. Thank you to everyone supporting the journey so far. We’re incredibly proud to see this partnership live 💜 The disability price tag is real, and it’s why meaningful savings and accessible experiences matter so much. When brands take action to recognise and support disabled customers, it creates lasting impact. This is what designing with dignity looks like. Thank you for standing with the disabled community and helping make everyday life a little more affordable and accessible DEWEY Clothing!
We are incredibly proud to partner with Purpl Discounts to offer 10% off for our customers with disabilities. Because, in the UK, disabled households face what’s often called the “disability price tag”. According to Scope’s 2023 Disability Price Tag report, disabled households need an average of £975 more per month to achieve the same standard of living as non-disabled households. We reconise that an estimated 1 in 5 of our customers live with disabilities and we are passionate about ensuring we never fail to recognise and honour that. So accessibility cannot be an afterthought. That’s why we are also proud to have partnered with EnableAll as one of the first brands to roll out their website accessibility plug-in, giving customers the ability to independently adjust features to suit their needs. From text size to contrast to navigation, control sits with the user. Caring for our community means designing with dignity in mind. We will forever be uncompromising when it comes to caring for our community, this is just one way that we’re continuing to show that. Chamiah Dewey

We’re delighted to share that our latest brand partnership with Dr. Martens plc is now live, both in-store and online. Dr. Martens is an iconic brand with a strong sense of identity and community, and we’re proud to be working together to help our members offset the extra costs that can come with disabilities and long-term health conditions. At Purpl, we believe inclusivity should be action-led. Creating meaningful savings is one practical way brands can make a real difference. If your brand wants to demonstrate inclusivity with more than just words, we’d love to talk: hello@thepurplco.com #Purpl #Inclusivity #Disability #Brand #Consumers #PurplePound ID: Purpl new brand partner announcement for Dr. Martens with their logo and a photo of a pair of their boots.

So far, nearly two thirds of respondents say the same thing: PIP assessments don’t reflect real daily life. That finding matters. It suggests the problem isn’t just individual questions or assessor inconsistency — it’s that the system struggles to capture how disability actually affects people over time, especially where conditions fluctuate or aren’t purely physical. We’ve shared our perspective on why this happens, and why meaningful reform needs to focus on real-world access, not one-off snapshots. 🔗 Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/eWtn6YF6
At Purpl, we regularly hear that assessments don’t reflect how many disabilities actually affect daily life, particularly for mental health and neurodiversity. We’re interested in perspectives from across policy, healthcare, and inclusion. Which issue do you see as the biggest barrier to fair assessment? #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityPolicy #MentalHealth #Inclusion #SocialImpact
