Business Consulting and Services

Embedded commercial support for founder-led agencies.

About us

Orbit supports founder-led agencies at the in-between stage, where they need senior commercial help but don’t want to hire full-time or rely on lead generation. Most businesses at this point aren’t short on ideas or capability. Everything just ends up sitting with the founder. Messaging lives in their head. Opportunities aren’t followed up consistently. Growth happens in bursts, then drops off again. We step in on a part-time basis to help get the commercial side working properly. That means: + shaping how the business talks about what it does + turning ideas into usable content and conversation starters + improving how opportunities are developed and followed up + connecting the dots across marketing, sales and strategy The result is more consistency, better conversations, and a steadier pipeline, without adding a full-time hire.

Following on from our earlier post on the 'Realness Rebound’, as people gravitate more towards things that feel more clearly real, it starts to shape how brands need to show up across the whole brand experience, not only in communications. Here are a few ways brands can create a greater sense of realness.

“I don’t really know what I’m good at.” How many of us have said this at some point, or heard it from someone we care about? The more conversations I have, the more I’m convinced we have a language problem, not a confidence problem. We simply don’t come across the words to describe what we are capable of in the workplace. Most roles reward functional output. Delivery. Things you can point at and measure. But some people create value differently. They offer judgement, discernment, steadiness… They’re the person others come to talk things through with. The ones who help untangle something messy. The ones whose presence makes decisions less stressful. But people don’t write that in their CV or in their bio and we don’t see it in job descriptions either. And so they measure themselves (and their worth) against the wrong criteria or try forcing themselves into the closest shape. Maybe you’re soul searching right now? If you’re asking yourself what you have to offer the world… 🪐 pay close attention to what people already come to you for. 🪐 notice which conversations you’re often pulled into. 🪐 look at where others seem calmer or clearer after speaking with you. This is where your hidden value sits. This is your thing.

Most founders think they need more hands. Almost all of them actually need more judgement. When you’re running a small and often stretched team… everything starts to blur. Is this a task? Is this a project? Or something else? How to work out what you need: Freelancer = When the work is clear. You can describe the output and just need it done. Agency = When the work is clear but big. You need multiple specialists and a polished result. “Guardian” = When the work isn’t clear at all. When it keeps changing shape depending on the client, the team or the day. When it feels emotional, situational or messy. When you can sense the problem but can’t turn it into a brief. The Orbit Society provides access to senior thinking, emotional steadiness and decision-making support without committing to a full-time salary. If you’re in the stage where you can feel something isn’t right but can’t define it yet, message me. I’ll help you sense check it and figure out what would genuinely help. 🪐

It’s time to stop calling it “flexibility”… and start calling it what it actually is: access to senior talent at a sustainable cost. Most founders I talk to aren’t sitting on AI optimised teams. They’re running small, very stretched businesses where workloads spike one week and disappear the next. Meanwhile, the rest of the market is speeding up because of AI and that mismatch is putting real pressure on smaller teams. Bigger companies are increasing output. Clients expect things faster. Budgets are tighter. Work is more unpredictable. And demand isn’t steady anymore but salaries are. That gap is what’s hurting small businesses. Hiring full-time now feels even more daunting and often way out of reach. As tasks speed up everywhere else, the real value inside a small business becomes the human skills: judgement, steadiness, boundaries, emotional intelligence, sense making, client rapport. AI isn’t replacing those. But it is reshaping everything around them, which means flexibility is no longer a benefit, it’s a commercial strategy. 🪐

  • When you’re running a small agency, the things that weigh you down are invisible to many… but a constant heavy load. The delivery deadlines. The client expectations. The team needing clarity while you’re already stretched thin. Sometimes what you really need is a senior woman who can step in and take some of that weight off your shoulders… without you having to explain everything from scratch. That’s what Orbit does. We place exceptional senior women who can protect your standards, keep things moving, and give you the space to think, lead, and breathe again. Not a restructure. Not a six-month consultancy. Just the right person, at the right moment, to help you stay steady. Because you don’t have to hold it all alone. 🪐
