In 2025, Teacher Development Trust offered the term "didagogy" to define the discipline concerned with teaching teachers. It is hoped that this will help to articulate and therefore improve our collective approach to teacher development. Our didagogy report synthesises emerging findings and includes personal reflections and provocations from leading academics and teacher CPD practitioners from across the sector. Today I am launching the National Parent and Carer Voice Survey. For years in education we have talked about student voice and increasingly about staff voice. But one perspective is still missing from most datasets: families. Most national parent polls in England capture around 5,000–6,000 responses. Inspection tools such as Ofsted Parent View gather important feedback too — but participation is often 5–7% of families and the questions are necessarily limited. In other words, we hear signals. But we rarely see the full picture of lived experience in homes. Through GEC Homes, we want to change that. This new national survey is designed to surface the Kaleidoscopic Data behind family experience — the realities of attendance, SEND support, wellbeing, communication with schools, and the impact education has on home life. Our ambition at the Global Equality Collective is simple but important: To build the largest and most inclusive dataset of parent and carer voice in education. When families speak, systems should listen. And when we listen properly, we can design education that works better for children, families and schools together. 📊 Take the survey https://lnkd.in/egpGDHuZ If you work in education, please help us reach families by sharing this. If 1,000 people share this with 10 parents, we will reach the 10,000 voices we are aiming to listen to. Let’s build an education system that listens, understands and acts with empathy. #ParentVoice #KaleidoscopicData #InclusionRevolution #IntentionalInclusion Square Peg Ellie Costello Elliott Rae Joeli Brearley Anna Whitehouse Dr Michelle T. Love this from Samantha Twiselton OBE https://lnkd.in/euKv27e7 The 2025 TDT report highlighting that 24% of teachers did not know where to go for quality CPD reflects a bewildering landscape.

Didagogy is our next topic for the The Association for Science Education Teacher Developers' Reading Community on 17th March 6.00 - 7.00pm. We will be looking at the Teacher Development Trust report exploring the discipline of teaching teachers and a Chartered College of Teaching Impact magazine article about how to ensure teacher knowledge from CPD is actionable so that children's outcomes do improve and we don't end up with a knowing - doing gap. We'd love to see you there! While we welcome several of the announcements included in "Every Child Achieving and Thriving", we hope that any future developments take account of the evidenced importance of teacher agency, local context, and a didagogical approach when it comes to teacher CPD. We believe these are vital aspects of creating an effective training entitlement in a landscape where 39% of teachers and school leaders say that current approaches to CPD have little or no impact on their practice Read more of our response below https://lnkd.in/eNdnTtNx
