Our passion for responsible, uplifting and beautiful design has informed our approach since 1987, when Rachel Haugh and Ian Simpson were united by a shared belief that innovative architectural thought has the power to shape and transform our cities. Reinforcing these guiding principles across a portfolio of work ranging from masterplans to interiors, we apply a creative and bespoke approach to every opportunity. Collaborating with our aspirational clients, communities and design teams, we harness their passion, knowledge and expertise to evolve powerful and pragmatic solutions. Remaining acutely aware of the impact of our decisions, we embrace the opportunity to show everyone that high quality design brings added value. With Rachel and Ian personally involved in each project, our guiding principles continue to inform and direct the ambition and quality of our work. Our talented architects, designers, visualisers, model makers and support team all contribute to meticulously delivering architecture of the highest design quality.

We’re looking forward to the upcoming ‘𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘕𝘰𝘸’ photographic exhibition, launching next week and capturing the city’s evolution over the past three decades. Alongside the exhibition, a programme of events will take place, featuring a range of speakers including thought leaders and industry experts. Among them is SimpsonHaugh Co‑founding Partner, Rachel Haugh. For further details, follow the link below.
📸 On 4 June 2026, a photographic exhibition will launch at Material Source Studio, showcasing how Manchester has evolved in the three decades since the IRA bombing. ‘Manchester then and now’ coincides with the incident’s 30th anniversary and will feature rare archival images of Manchester with contemporary photographs of the same location years later. Developed by Euan Kellie Property Solutions in collaboration with Luma Marketing and us as exhibition hosts, Material Source Studio Manchester, the month-long event serves as a striking visual narrative of resilience, regeneration and architectural evolution. The exhibition kicks-off with a launch event on 3 June 2026, with keynote speaker, Tom Stannard, chief executive at Manchester City Council, before opening to the public from 4-30 June with events taking place throughout, featuring involvement from Sir Richard Leese, Rachel Haugh, SimpsonHaugh, Nick Russell, Salboy, and Jessica Bowles, Bruntwood SciTech. ➡️ Discover more and plan your visit - no booking required - here: https://lnkd.in/eQURuNkk #Manchester #Property #Photography #BuiltEnvironment #FlashbackFriday #Architecture #Event #MaterialSourceStudio #ConnectingCreativeMinds
Next month, Partner Simon Critchley will be speaking at this year’s Tall Buildings Summit in London. The Summit brings together leading voices from across the built environment to explore the future of tall buildings. Key themes include the drive towards net zero and climate resilience, the implications of the Building Safety Act and Gateway processes, in-depth case studies of landmark high-rise projects, and the role of industrialised construction and digital delivery. Simon will be joined by Tom McClenan of WSP to present on RENAKER’s Trinity Islands scheme in Manchester, offering insight into the development’s architectural vision and structural design. 🔗 View the full conference agenda: https://bit.ly/43tapKH #Architecture #TallBuildings #BuiltEnvironment #London

We’re excited to see RENAKER’s West Gate at St John’s Waterside officially launch. Rising to 39 storeys, West Gate is set to become a landmark address in Manchester and another impressive addition to the city’s ever-evolving skyline. Stay posted 🌇
As the first of two towers within the St John's Waterside neighbourhood, West Gate’s distinctive diamond-shaped plan will create a strong sense of orientation within a form that is entirely unique to this location. Designed by renowned architects SimpsonHaugh, the tower’s diamond form defines its identity, with a an inflected glass façade that will create texture and movement, reflecting the gently lapping waters of the River Irwell that meanders around the neighbourhood, and allowing the building’s crystalline character to shift with light, season, and perspective. #StJohnsWaterside #StJohnsManchester #ManchesterProperty #ManchesterArchitecture #ManchesterSkyline
