Live on-demand BSL Video Interpreting services for UK organisations and the Deaf community.
About us
SignVideo provides live, on-demand British Sign Language (BSL) Video Interpreting services for the UK's Deaf community and UK organisations. We provide both Video Relay Services (supporting phone communications between BSL users and hearing people) and Video Remote Interpreting services (when a hearing person and the BSL users are in the same location, such as a store or office). We provide services for Deaf people, to enable easy day to day communication with hearing people, such as colleagues, customers and other professionals e.g. doctors, teachers etc. We also partner with many forward-thinking organisations to provide live BSL interpreting for customer services provision, ensuring full accessibility for Deaf people to helplines and other customer services channels. It's vital Deaf people can contact customer services teams in BSL, their first language.

🚨 Imagine being in an emergency, and no one can communicate with you. For Deaf people, that’s reality once 999 BSL ends, paramedics, firefighters, and police arrive, and support stops. Lives are at risk. BSL access across the entire emergency journey isn’t optional; it’s lifesaving. Watch the video. Share. Sign the petition: https://lnkd.in/dVtWsuey
My article asks the uncomfortable question: does a deaf person really have to die before BSL interpreter access improves? Why is it still so hard to get a BSL interpreter in an emergency? Will it take a tragedy for things to finally change? We need proper access now - not later.
