Today’s AI models don’t just depend on processing power. They depend on the quality, diversity, and integrity of the data behind them. That’s why the newly announced expansion of Shutterstock’s licensed training datasets matters. We’re not just adding more content. We’re giving developers and enterprises access to continuously refreshed, rights-cleared multimodal data across the entire AI lifecycle—from experimentation to deployment and ongoing training through a single, trusted, unified partner. What does that unlock? → More reliable and performant models → Faster iteration and time to market → Less operational complexity with one strategic partner → Greater transparency and confidence in deployment readiness As generative AI continues to grow, teams need partners who can deliver quality, diversity, and continually refreshed data at scale. We're proud to help power systems built by some of the world’s largest technology companies, like OpenAI, global brands and startups like Black Forest Labs and Runway, as well as AI research and product companies, like ElevenLabs. This is about turning better data into better AI. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ghhj-S8n Press release: https://lnkd.in/gyjZ4gXC

Scale is important for pre-training, but when it comes to fine-tuning, quality matters most. At Shutterstock, we offer not only the world’s largest collection of multimodal data but also the best data for accelerating model refinement. We’ve built a pipeline that selects, scores, clusters, and captions data with generative model performance in mind. By leveraging licensing data from over 100 million AI-generated images, we identify what resonates with users and use those signals to curate our refinement datasets. Swipe to see our optimal refinement datasets in action, and learn more about Shutterstock data licensing here: https://lnkd.in/gwc_qEZe For the full breakdown of our methodology, check out this blog by Raúl Gómez Bruballa: https://lnkd.in/g-BkZcwg

  • AI is evolving at lightning speed. It's no longer just generating text, it's learning how the world works. Director of AI Channel Partnerships Dan Daugherty discusses why large multimodal datasets are becoming essential for the next generation of AI systems - read below 👇

AI isn’t just learning to write better sentences. It’s starting to learn how the world works. The rise of world models marks a fundamental shift in AI development. Instead of reacting to prompts, advanced systems are building internal representations of reality, learning how physics, space, and cause and effect work before taking action. Why does that matter? Because the next generation of AI agents won’t just generate outputs. They’ll simulate possible outcomes before taking action. A robotics system might test thousands of movements in simulation before operating in the real world. An autonomous vehicle can model how traffic might behave before making a turn. Instead of relying purely on trial and error in the real world, AI can experiment safely inside simulated environments that approximate reality. But world models require something very important. Data that reflects reality. Images, video, 3D environments, audio, and other multimodal signals help AI systems understand how people, objects, and environments interact across time and space. This is one of the reasons large multimodal datasets are becoming increasingly important for the next generation of AI systems. If you're interested in how data is powering the future of AI models, you can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gunzgdfT The more accurately AI can understand the world, the more capable it becomes at interacting with it. That shift is already underway. #DataLicensing #ModelTraining #Shutterstock #FuelGreatWork
