✅ Day two at UKREiiF 2026 certainly didn’t slow down! Another busy day for the Real Estate:UK (RE:UK) team at UKREiiF, with sessions and discussions today covering everything from office obsolescence and New Towns to regional investment, housing delivery and the partnerships needed to drive long-term growth across the UK. 🏢 Our Interim Chief Executive Melanie Leech started the day discussing the challenges facing the UK’s ageing office stock and the growing risk of building obsolescence as part of a panel hosted by Saffery and Montagu Evans. Melanie also chaired a panel on the opportunities across Greater Essex, with discussions focused on the role smaller cities can play in creating compelling offers for investors, businesses and communities. 🏘️ Housing delivery remained high on the agenda as our Director of Policy Danny Pinder hosted a New Towns roundtable with Addleshaw Goddard’s Marnix Elsenaar and Amy Shaw. Public and private sector leaders explored what is needed to turn the Government’s ambitions into deliverable communities, including planning reform, infrastructure, funding and viability, delivery models and long-term stewardship. Scotland was also in the spotlight at the 'Invest in Scotland' session, chaired by Scottish Property Federation Chair Cameron Stott, with discussions covering commercial opportunities, Green Freeports, housing delivery and investment across the country. 🤝 This evening, we were pleased to sponsor the Homes England reception, where there was a real sense of optimism around housing delivery, partnership working and the role the newly created bank can play in unlocking investment and accelerating delivery across the UK. We’re also rounding off the evening with our RE:UK BD Supper hosted with Trowers & Hamlins - bringing together members and partners for good conversation and networking after another busy day at UKREiiF. 🧘♀️ RE:Futures members were on the move throughout the day, starting the morning with yoga and breakfast hosted by Quod before heading to networking lunches, roundtables and an exclusive Build-to-Rent site visit with Legal & General at TURA. This week in Leeds alongside UKREiiF. We kicked off the day in the best possible way, with a morning yoga session at the Reset Studio. A huge thank you to Lizzy Cormack (Quod) for organising. It was a great reminder of the importance of wellbeing in helping us show up at our best throughout a busy week. We then headed to The Alchemist for a fantastic networking lunch sponsored by Harworth Group plc and Shoosmiths, and supported by RE:Futures. With over 120 delegates in attendance, the energy in the room was incredible. The day wrapped up with a tour of the TURA Buildings, hosted by Legal & General. Exploring their build-to-rent development, gave us valuable insight into how the sector is evolving, from design quality to long-term resident experience. 💡 Key takeaways from the day: Prioritising wellbeing isn’t a luxury, it’s essential for performance and meaningful engagement Informal, social settings continue to play a crucial role in building authentic industry relationships. Great to be out riding through the Yorkshire Dales this morning alongside fellow Quoddiess Joseph Stroud, Lucas Fallon and Kylian Lemarechal, as well as clients and industry contacts . Plenty of good conversations along the route, with a chance to catch up with old connections and make some new ones too. Proud that Quod could support the event this year, with the Sportif once again raising money for the Yorkshire Children's Charity. Huge credit to the organisers for another excellent event. We are pleased to share that planning approval has been granted for the delivery of 355 high-quality homes, in the first phase of the Pudding Mill Lane development in east London - marking a major milestone in a joint venture formed between Vistry and London Legacy Development Corporation. 282 of the homes have been designated as affordable, comprising 191 for intermediate rent and 91 for social rent.
