ODBA is an early stage venture capital firm who back innovative founders using technology to create improbable stories.

About us

We are an early stage VC firm who back innovative founders using technology to create improbable stories. Our portfolio companies are founded and led by people whose stories we admire, visions we share, and efforts we back. People are at the heart of everything we do. We don’t invest in ventures, products or ideas, rather we invest in the individuals who build them. As founders ourselves we invest in people like us: wherever and however we find them. Our investments span 25+ innovators across 13+ countries, with a combined follow-on capital of over $150 million and a user base exceeding 9 million.

🇬🇧🦚 Relive the best moments from London VC Summit 2026. Last Friday, the London Venture Capital Summit brought the global VC ecosystem to Guildhall to close out London VC Week. 1,700+ guests. 500+ investors. 125 speakers. Founders, VCs, LPs, family offices, and operators from around the world. Europe’s largest dedicated VC conference. From keynotes and panels with leading international speakers to the Going All In Gaming Lounge, the beer garden, live peacocks, and a flying car in the courtyard, it was truly a day to remember. To everyone who joined or supported us from across the UK and internationally, thank you. We’re just getting started. londonvcnetwork.com Video captured and produced by DUO P..

I really enjoy what I do. Yesterday, on the Africa Pensions™️ stage in Balaclava, I got to say out loud what I spend most of my working days quietly believing: that pension adoption and administration on this continent can be ten times what it is today. It felt liberating to put numbers and tactics to a problem that is usually discussed in adjectives. And here is the most interesting thing in the room. From Joburg to Lagos, Kampala to Accra, the obstacles get called different names, informal, low trust, weak rails, regulatory gaps. They are the same obstacle. The countries are different. The customer isn't. At Awabah, we see that clearly because we sit at the intersection of all of it. Our job is to build for the customer who exists, at scale, not the one the system wishes existed. There is still a lot to do. From here, it doesn't feel impossible.

Entertainment businesses are increasingly evolving beyond content alone. The strongest companies emerging across gaming and consumer technology are building ecosystems around attention, participation, community, and digital identity. That shift was a major theme during a panel discussion joined by ODBA’s General Partner, Gbite Oduneye at the London Venture Capital Network Summit at Guildhall last week. For venture investors, this requires a different lens from the traditional software playbook. The next generation of consumer platforms may not simply be defined by utility. They may be defined by culture, engagement, and ownership of audience relationships at scale. Particularly in younger, mobile-first markets where digital behaviour and cultural distribution increasingly move ahead of traditional infrastructure. Credit to the LVCN team for convening one of London’s strongest venture gatherings this year across founders, investors, operators, and institutions. #Improbablestories #ConsumerTech #DigitalEconomy #Technology

Meet Achem Samuel the mind behind one of our most-loved features. Samuel and his team didn't just build Scan to Pay; they built the kind of experience that makes you wonder why paying ever felt complicated in the first place. We're proud to have engineers who don't just ship features — they think about the person on the other end of the screen. Here's to the builders. 💜 #EngineeringExcellence #ProductSpotlight #FinTech
