Building a world where tech is fun again.

About us

Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again. We’re building a different kind of company, one that puts design, emotion, and human creativity at the heart of everything we do. From the way our products look to how they sound, feel, and function, we care about the details that make technology not just useful, but inspiring. This is a place for the curious. The creators. The ones who ask why not and mean it. If you're drawn to bold ideas, fast moves, and work that actually makes you feel something, you’ll fit right in. We're not here to follow the rules. We're here to make better ones. Founded in London in 2020, Nothing is a design-led tech company building an alternative to the industry giants. Our products, from award-winning smartphones to expressive audio and wearables, blend iconic design with intuitive engineering to put people and creativity back at the centre of consumer tech. Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, C Ventures, and influential investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’ve grown from startup to global challenger in just a few years.

As per the latest IDC report, Nothing is once again the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India in 2025, for the second year in a row. The 2,000 people who showed up for our store opening last weekend are a true manifestation of that momentum. Now onto the Phone (4a) series, launching on 5 March - we aren't slowing down any time soon, let’s go!

We opened Nothing's first India store in Bengaluru today. India has been critical to our growth since the very beginning and Bengaluru made perfect sense as the first location. It's where most of our users in India are, where India's tech community lives, where early adopters gather, and where people really understand what we're building. The store isn't just about selling products. We've built a space where our community can actually create. There's a studio for shooting content, areas for meetups and events, and you can customize your Nothing tech. We wanted to make something that feels like a fluid space, not another sterile tech store. Physical retail lets us tell our story without filters and build real in person connections as we scale. After London and Bengaluru, we're bringing this approach to New York and Tokyo next, with other locations to follow. Massive credit to the team who made this happen. Excited to see what the community does with this space.

On the tree-lined streets of India’s innovation capital, Nothing Store Bengaluru combines our industrial design codes with the mechanical details of 1970s assembly lines. Across two floors, our new flagship is imagined as a community hub – complete with a coffee shop and a studio where you can customise your Nothing tech. Plus, there’s a host of claw games and vending machines to discover among a full selection of Nothing products. The second store after our Soho flagship, Nothing Store Bengaluru is the first of a few new spaces. Be sure to stay on the lookout for when we break ground in New York and Japan.

We were promised there would be "an app for that" and for a while, it felt true. But open app stores gradually gave way to the same few default apps and platforms - built by a handful of companies, for billions of people at once. Essential Apps start from a different belief: software should be tailored to your specific needs and context. From a simple prompt, you create personalized apps. No ads. No dark patterns. No one-size-fits-all. This is a shift toward a billion apps for a billion people - free from walled gardens. Today, we’re rolling out Essential Apps Beta following our Alpha release late last year. Updates now edit only what you change and keep the rest intact, with one-click rollback if anything breaks. Publishing is clearer, project states are easier to follow, and organization is tighter across the board. We’ve added location, calendar, and contacts permissions, so you can build apps that actually respond to your context. Image uploads are now supported, and a refreshed design baseline improves spacing, typography, tap areas, accessibility, and dark mode consistency - with more widget sizes on the way. Can't wait to see what our community builds next!

Starting 2026 strong! CMF was the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India in 2025, according to Counterpoint Research, delivering +83% YoY growth. Also, Nothing closed Q4 as the fastest-growing brand in India at +32% YoY - marking the 7th time in the last 8 quarters. Excited to keep building what’s next and looking forward to our Indian flagship store launch on February 14 in Bengaluru. Let’s go!

2026 will be an unprecedented year for consumer electronics, and the smartphone industry in particular. For fifteen years, the smartphone industry relied on a single, reliable assumption: components would inevitably get cheaper. While short-term volatility existed, the long-term downward trend in memory and display costs allowed for annual spec bumps without price hikes. In 2026, that model has finally broken, driven by a sharp and unprecedented surge in memory costs. AI has fundamentally reshaped demand. The same memory used in smartphones is now critical for AI data centers, as hyperscalers lock in silicon wafer capacity years in advance to fuel the AI boom. For the first time, smartphones are competing directly with AI infrastructure and memory prices are rising sharply as a result. In some cases, memory costs have already increased by up to 3x, with further rises expected as unprecedented demand continues to swallow available supply. Memory is fast becoming one of the most expensive smartphone components and potentially the single largest cost driver in the bill of materials by year-end, with estimates suggesting that memory modules which cost less than $20 a year ago could exceed $100 by year-end for top-tier models. The result is a structural shift. This is a reversal of everything we’ve come to expect from this industry. When something that used to get cheaper every year suddenly becomes a lot more expensive, the economics of building a smartphone fundamentally change. Brands now face a simple choice: raise prices, by 30% or more in some cases, or downgrade specs. The “more specs for less money” model that many value brands were built on is no longer sustainable in 2026. As a result, some markets, particularly entry and mid-tier segments, are likely to shrink by 20% or more, and brands that have historically dominated these segments will struggle. Pricing will inevitably also increase across our smartphone portfolio, particularly as we will upgrade some products launching this Q1 to UFS 3.1. However, for Nothing, the current situation represents a great opportunity. Operating without the cost advantages of industry giants forced us to innovate differently. We learned early on that we couldn’t win on spec sheets alone; instead, we focused on perfecting the user experience, proving that how a phone looks and feels matters far more than its raw numbers. That’s where our focus has always been. 2026 is the year the "specs race" ends. As the industry resets, experience becomes the only real differentiator. That is exactly what Nothing was built for. The era of cheap silicon is over. The era of intentional design is just beginning.

After seeing what our community created last year, we knew we had to do it again. Phone (3a) Community Edition 2025 was made together with the people who use our products every day. Starting 7 months ago, we’ve been working with community members on 90s inspired hardware and packaging, a clock face and wallpaper, a custom accessory and a marketing launch campaign. The project is a one of a kind celebration of co-creation that gives our community the opportunity to make real products for Nothing.
