About us
NEURO – The Neurodiversity, Empowerment, Understanding and Resilience Organisation - exists to drive a societal shift in how neurodivergent individuals are understood, valued, and empowered—across policy, culture, and community. We advocate for a world in which neurodiversity is not framed as a deficit to be managed, but to be respected and with the potential for it to be a strategic, cultural, and economic asset to be harnessed. Our work is grounded in lived experience, psychology, a desire for change and a deep compassion for the diverse ways minds work. Through policy engagement, public education, and strategic partnerships, we work to: • Transform cultural narratives, challenging stigma and enabling institutions—from education to workplaces to government—to recognise neurodivergent people as vital contributors to national resilience, innovation, and prosperity. • Empower neurodivergent individuals and communities, providing the psychological tools, peer support, and leadership development required not just to survive, but to thrive. • Influence national policy and campaign for a UK National Neurodiversity Strategy that secures rights, opportunity, and representation for neurodivergent citizens. We collaborate with individuals, organisations, and government to embed change at scale—bridging the gap between awareness and true systemic inclusion. We champion a gender-informed approach, recognising how neurodivergence manifests differently and is too often missed in women and gender-diverse people. Our vision is a future in which neurodivergent intelligence is cultivated as a cornerstone of social and strategic strength.

Did you know that 50% of UK managers confess they don't want to hire neurodivergent professionals? This is mind-blowing! I just had a lovely chat with Robert Annis Founder of UK-based NEURO Charity, and his commitment to fighting the still present stigma around hiring and believing in neurodivergent talent is truly inspiring. Using a consultancy approach, NEURO Charity has one big goal in mind: Propel neuroinclusion as the organisational advantage that it actually is 🔥 Brings me back to the great work my dear friend Esther Pérez Ribada is doing with Teamworkz.co here in Spain 💫 If the impressive fact above impacted you in the same way, find out more about NEURO and how they are working to change it 👇 make sure you share it with the leaders you know! 🫵

A clip from Richard Reid's podcast The Business of Thinking with Robert Annis explaining why neurodivergent people deserve systems that understand not only who they are, but how they think, work and thrive.

We were delighted to see this reflection from Craig Stimson following his conversation with Robert Annis at the Institute of Directors (IoD). At NEURO, we believe neuroinclusion must move beyond surface-level intent and become part of how organisations design leadership, culture, communication and working conditions. Craig’s focus on agency, clarity and neuro-informed leadership strongly resonates with our work. Meaningful inclusion is not about asking people to fit outdated moulds more successfully. It is about reshaping environments so cognitive diversity can contribute fully, safely and effectively. We look forward to continuing the conversation. If others are interested in partnership, please reach out. www.neurocharity.org #NEUROCharity #Neuroinclusion #CognitiveDiversity #InclusiveLeadership #FutureOfWork #NeurodiversityAtWork
Great conversations have a way of shifting perspective. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Annis from NEURO Charity yesterday, at the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, London. An environment that felt fitting for a discussion centred on the future of diversity in work. It wasn’t just the topic, but the depth and honesty of the conversation that really stood out for me. We explored what meaningful inclusion could (and should) look like as work continues to evolve, moving beyond intent into real, systemic change. Robert, alongside his wife and co founder Melissa, are doing genuinely important work. Not at the surface level, performative kind, but the kind that challenges systems, reframes narratives, and creates space for neurodivergent talent to not just be included, but to lead. There’s a strong alignment with the work I’m building through The Agentic Coach, particularly around agency, clarity, and unlocking leadership potential in ways that don’t force people into outdated moulds. It feels like the start of something, and I’m curious and excited to see where this partnership may lead next 🙏🏻 #NeurodiversityAtWork #InclusiveLeadership #FutureOfWork

A thoughtful post from Emma Vitalini, and a beautiful reminder that cognitive diversity often shows up in the smallest observations. The “hidden arrow” in the FedEx logo is a lovely example of something much larger: different minds notice different patterns, connections and possibilities. That matters in schools. It matters in workplaces. It matters in leadership, innovation, risk, service design and organisational culture. At NEURO Charity, we are working to turn neuroinclusion into something practical, evidence-based and structurally real. Not as a gesture of kindness, but as a better way to design environments where more people can contribute at their best. Emma’s support and insight mean a great deal to us, particularly as NEURO grows across health, life sciences, education and organisational practice. This is why we're proud to welcome Emma onboard as our Volunteer Strategic Partner - Health & Life Sciences and Education. This growth backs up our partnerships with The Crompton Club, Newham Chamber Of Commerce, University of Westminster, The University of Manchester, Young Tower Hamlets and their young mayor, Musa Noor and more. Come...join the NEURO movement 😊🧠 www.neurocharity.org #NEUROCharity #Neuroinclusion #CognitiveDiversity #Neurodiversity #Leadership #Education #HealthInnovation #LifeSciences
The hidden arrow The other day while driving with my 9 year old son we were going through the continuous stream of ‘why do…have you ever thought about…do you think that…’ when one question finally got me. We were following a FedEX delivery van and he asked ‘do you think they fixed the spacing in the letters deliberately to form the arrow to symbolise your packages going from a to b’. At this point I couldn’t have been happier. I had a tangiable example of how he, with ADHD sees the world differently to me (although I’m not claiming only neurodivergent people can see the arrow without being prompted). But I know he is able to see patterns and make connections that I am not and he observes much more these subtleties in life. In every sector shaped by complexity, change, and human consequence, one question matters more than many organisations realise: are we building environments that allow different minds to do their best work? Certainly for my children, I am excited to see how frameworks and technology are leveraged in their school setting to enable them to thrive but what happens beyond school and academia… In January I started to talk with Robert Annis, initially for recommendations on research and courses but, what he has built with his wife Melissa Annis grew to be something I rapidly wanted to be a part of. NEURO is a charity whose mission is bold and timely: turning neuroinclusion into something practical, evidence-based, and structurally real. Not rhetoric. Not tokenism. Real operating change. Providing frameworks and training for organisations and people to enable neurodivergence to be a real strategic and competitive advantage. I’m excited to contribute to that mission and to support its growth across health, life sciences, education, and beyond. If your organisation is serious about innovation, capability, and designing for human difference more intelligently, this is a conversation worth having. www.neurocharity.org #NEUROCharity #Neuroinclusion #CognitiveDiversity #HealthInnovation #Leadership #Education #LifeSciences

NEURO is pleased to be represented tomorrow at CIBC for an Autism Awareness Month panel discussion. We are proud that our Co-Founder, Robert Annis, has been invited to return for a second year to contribute to this important conversation. For us, this work has never been about awareness in isolation. It is about practical, evidence-based neuroinclusion and building environments in which neurodivergent people can participate, contribute, and thrive. Thank you to CIBC for the invitation. We are very glad to be part of the discussion. https://lnkd.in/e2Trgp7H #NEUROCharity #AutismAwarenessMonth #AutismAcceptance #Neuroinclusion #CognitiveDiversity #Inclusion

The beast lives on! Join the fight!
Seeking a volunteer grant writer who enjoys wrestling the Grant Application Beast. And wins. Happy Friday everyone, I’m recruiting a volunteer Grant Writer / Bid Lead for NEURO – The Neurodiversity, Empowerment, Understanding and Resilience Organisation. We're looking for someone who can turn a strong mission into funder-ready applications: eligibility checks, evidence mapping, compelling narrative, and submission discipline. Best fit backgrounds: charity fundraising, public sector bids, research development, CSR/community investment, or consultancy proposals. Initial “test task”: review one funder brief and produce a 1-page fit assessment plus a criteria-to-evidence map. If it feels like a match, we will put an NDA in place and have a short call. If you are interested, please DM with a short note on your related experience. A charity is only as strong as those who guide it. As NEURO Charity begins its journey, we are proud to introduce our trustees; Amy Hopper, Georgina Worrall OBE, Mark Huxley FRSA and our chairwoman, Melissa Annis. Each of them brings a unique combination of professional distinction, public leadership, and lived experience. Together, they support NEURO’s core conviction: that neurodivergence is not a deficit to be managed, but a source of resilience, innovation, and strength for society. They will help steer NEURO now that we: - Have built an ecosystem of products and services for measurable change in business, education and public services - Offer a rigorous accreditation for neuroinclusion - no easy pass - so that it means something. Organisations that show demonstrable change and investment stand out. Showing to potential clients, suppliers, and talent that they value cognitive diversity. We have intentionally not gone down the path of other charities. As you can see via www.neurocharity.org, we have built an engine for societal change, not raising awareness. Fortitudo ex varietate – Strength from variety. (this is our motto - we hope you will join us...) 👉 Follow NEURO for updates as we build a future where neurodiversity is not only acknowledged, but valued and embedded. #NEUROCharity #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #Leadership
