We know Pensions are something that affect a lot of people, but they can be difficult and complicated to wrap your head around at the best of times. If you like, we can even track down most pensions and combine them for you with the fewest details - hopefully saving you from frantically trying to guess your password for an old workplace pension from 15 years ago. We’ve also designed it to help you picture what your pension could look when you retire, and the yearly income future you can expect you have. You say tomato, we also say tomato… because that’s how the name is pronounced. There’s a special kind of social friction that happens when you’re nervous around a colleague as you’re not sure how to say their name. You hesitate, mumble or even worse, avoid saying their name altogether. That’s why we encourage all Monzonauts to use the ‘Name Pronunciation’ tool in Slack. People can either spell it out phonetically (e.g. if your name is Anastasia, you could put an-uh-STAY-zhuh), or even add a voice recording on how to pronounce it. By doing this, we take the guesswork out of the intros …no apologies or awkward conversations needed.
