We’re pleased to announce that Cyngor Gwynedd has selected iTrent as its new HR and Payroll platform, supporting the Council’s move to a modern, hosted ERP solution. As the second largest county in Wales - and the authority with the highest percentage of Welsh speakers - Gwynedd required a future-ready system capable of delivering robust HR and Payroll functionality, strong integration capabilities, and full Welsh language support for internal communication. The aim was to move away from resource-heavy in-house system support and adopt a secure, off-the-shelf solution that could modernise processes, improve reporting and strengthen governance. Cabinet Member for Finance, Huw Wyn Jones, and the Cabinet Member for Corporate Service and Legal, Llio Elenid Owen said, “We wanted a solution that would allow the Council to shape its own processes, rather than adapting ourselves around system limitations. Strong integration, better workflow automation and meaningful managerial reporting were essential. And as an authority where the Welsh language is central to how we operate, full bilingual capability was non-negotiable. iTrent gives us a sustainable platform to move forward with confidence.” Nick Felton, Chief Sales Officer at MHR, added, “Local authorities across the UK are operating in some of the most complex, financially pressured and highly scrutinised environments we have seen in recent years. The need to balance compliance, transparency and operational efficiency — while still delivering for local communities — has never been greater. At MHR, supporting local government is a core part of who we are. We are privileged to work with a significant proportion of councils across the UK, and that experience gives us a deep understanding of the governance, regulatory and operational realities they face every day. We’re proud to support Gwynedd Council as they modernise their legacy systems and transition to a secure, sustainable hosted platform. MHR is built to flex around the unique structures, policies and democratic responsibilities of local authorities, while maintaining the resilience and compliance the public sector demands. We look forward to building a long-term partnership with the Council and supporting them in delivering efficient, transparent services for their communities.”
