Last week, Lightcast hosted our RKO event in Idaho, bringing together teammates from across the U.S. and around the world. After a long flight from Toronto, it was worth every minute to see everyone in person! It was such a great reminder that our team is even more human and inspiring in person 😄 Their energy, creativity, and dedication really shine when we get to collaborate face-to-face. A huge thank you to our leaders and everyone who made this event possible. To our clients, you’re in great hands with this talented and dedicated team!

#AI isn’t replacing non-technical workers. It’s reshaping their jobs. We’re seeing: -- Marketers using AI to guide strategy -- HR teams using AI in talent decisions -- Finance professionals augmenting analysis -- Healthcare workers applying AI in context And the pipeline reflects that shift: many “AI workers” don’t come from technical backgrounds at all, but from business, communications, and the humanities. If you’re still treating AI as a niche technical capability, you’re already behind. The real advantage comes from combining AI with human judgment, context, and communication. That’s where the value is moving. Full breakdown (with tons of data): https://lnkd.in/gyjwm-Ys

AI isn’t eliminating jobs—at least not right now. That was a key takeaway from Josh Wright speaking at the IEDC Leadership Summit during a session on Lightcast’s new Fault Lines research. Despite the hype and fear surrounding AI, the data shows something more nuanced >>> AI skills are spreading rapidly into non-tech occupations. And the biggest shift in the labor market may not be job loss—it’s how work itself is changing across industries. If you missed Josh Wright's session, explore the research: https://lnkd.in/eJ23WVq7 What changes are you seeing from AI in your region’s workforce?

Next week -- Lightcast researcher extraordinare, Matt Walsh, will take the stage at the Global AI Summit at Bentley University to break down what we’re seeing across millions of job postings and workforce trends worldwide in his talk titled "The Future of Work in Transition" From accelerating AI adoption to widening skill gaps, Matt will unpack what’s changing beneath the surface; and what it means for leaders responsible for talent, strategy, and growth. If you’re trying to make sense of where the labor market is heading next, this session will offer a clear, data-driven view of what’s ahead. #FaultLines

The headcount number is really static, whereas when we think about skills, they're really dynamic. The organizations that are going to win won't be the ones with the most people; they're going to be the ones that can see those capability gaps early and reconfigure themselves quickly. We can help you get a view as to how those skills are changing, and how to pivot. https://lnkd.in/ezt9Mfms cc: Oli Meager

The software job market isn’t shrinking. It’s actually **splitting** Lightcast data in the Financial Times shows: • Demand is holding steady • Growth is skewed toward senior roles • Pay is diverging sharply AI is shifting value away from execution and toward experience, judgment, and oversight. But there’s a catch: If entry-level roles stagnate, where does the next generation of talent come from? The data highlights a structural challenge the industry still needs to solve.
