Another bank holiday this weekend, the sun will be shinning with temperatures up to 30 degrees in Milton Keynes! 😎 In the office we were talking about events happening in MK, when Jen mentioned the MILTON KEYNES MUSEUM and how she used to take her kids there when they were smaller. It sounded like a great day out, especially the telephone area and all the interactive parts, so we are now thinking of a ‘team day’ visit! Have you been? If not, it definitely looks worth visiting with the family!

A school came to us with a phone setup that had slowly turned into “make do” system. A pick 'n' mix of old kit, a couple of add-ons, and a handful of workarounds that only one or two people really understood. It worked most days, but when it didn’t, it caused real disruption not only for the reception staff, but for parents and operations around the school. ➖ We started by listening to how the communications within the school should be running. Did you know Bletchley Park Trust wasn’t picked at random? One of the big reasons it worked so well as a wartime codebreaking hub was location, it sat right on a major railway line (the West Coast Main Line) between London and the Midlands/North, with easy access to London and strong transport links for people and equipment. Another fun fact: early long-distance communications routes often followed railway corridors because the rail companies already owned long, straight stretches of land (a ready-made “right of way”), so it was simpler and cheaper to run telegraph (and later telephone) lines alongside the tracks, and maintenance was easier too. This was the office chatter this week after Robert Dickinson, had picked this up on a family visit to Bletchley Park at the weekend. If you’ve never been, it’s a brilliant a brilliant place to go for a day out, especially with the bank holiday weekend coming up!
