Hitachi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. to convert existing vessels into floating data centers, in what is an innovative solution to growing demand due to the rise of generative AI. We're able to use seawater for its natural cooling effects, while the vessels can move to where the demand is greatest. By giving second-hand vessels a new life, we’re reducing environmental impact and costs. What else in our world can be upcycled for good? #Datacenters #AI #Innovation #MOL

AI is becoming physical. Across industries, the systems that keep society running, rail networks, energy substations, and industrial equipment, are under pressure from labor shortages and increasing complexity. By combining mission-critical infrastructure with advanced intelligence, Hitachi is bringing AI directly into the physical world. Physical AI connects real-world equipment with data and learning systems to optimize operations, improve reliability, and enable machines to move and adapt more like humans. From faster AI decision-making to whole-body motion learning in robotics, this new era of industrial AI is turning data into real-world action. #AI #PhysicalAI #Innovation

AI is no longer just something we interact with on a screen. It is beginning to perceive, think, learn and act in the real world. The first Hitachi Physical AI Day was all about bringing this notion to life, demonstrating how Physical AI can help transform and optimize the critical systems that support society, from mobility and manufacturing to energy and social infrastructure. Across live demos, physical exhibits and expert sessions including speakers Yoshinori Hosoya, Jun Taniguchi, Wolfgang Mueller, Miki Tsusaka and more, the event explored how Hitachi’s century of operational technology expertise, combined with cutting-edge AI and Lumada’s evolution, is opening up new possibilities for solving real-world challenges, including labor shortages, knowledge transfer and more resilient infrastructure. Thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed to the discussions and experienced the demonstrations firsthand. Physical AI is moving from concept to practical application and we’re excited to keep shaping what comes next. #PhysicalAI #HMAX #Innovation
