Last week, in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry's UK-India Business Forum we hosted 'Beyond the New Delhi AI Summit: India & the UK Shaping the AI Age' at the High Commission, bringing together distinguished leaders to advance our 21st-century partnership. The discussion underscored a defining principle for India–UK cooperation: moving from theoretical frameworks to measurable impact and scalable solutions. Former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, AI advisors, research leaders, and industry practitioners explored how co-innovation, shared ecosystems, and inclusive governance can democratise AI's benefits across the Global South and beyond. Earlier this week, the High Commission hosted 'Beyond the New Delhi AI Summit: India & the UK Shaping the AI Age', bringing together leaders from government, industry and academia on strategic priorities for India–UK AI cooperation. Speakers reflected on the success of the original summit in the UK in convening global thought leaders, with successive summits taking the conversation forward, and the Impact Summit in India showcasing the incredible scale of opportunities in responsible and inclusive deployment of AI for public good. Last week, the High Commission convened a roundtable dialogue on "Advancing the India-UK Science & Technology Partnership" in collaboration with Chatham House and Imperial College London. The High Commission hosted a special two-day tribute to the cinematic legacy of Satyajit Ray last week, celebrating the timeless brilliance of one of Indian cinema's greatest masters. Over two days, enthusiastic audiences among both the Indian community and admirers of Ray's work journeyed through four of his most celebrated works: Charulata, Kapurush, Mahanagar, and Nayak. The screenings provided an opportunity to explore Ray's profound influence on world cinema, his masterful storytelling and his ability to capture the human condition with insight and compassion. The High Commissioner joined the Conservative Friends of India's Spring Reception at the historic House of Lords last week, alongside Sir Oliver Dowden, Deputy Speaker Nusrat Ghani MP, Baroness Sandy Verma, Gagan Mohindra MP, amongst other members of both Houses of Parliament. The reception provided an opportunity to reaffirm the deep bonds between India and the United Kingdom and to discuss pathways to strengthening bilateral relations in the period ahead. #IndiaUKPartnership

Earlier this week, the High Commission was pleased to host Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes MSP along with leading Scottish industry leaders for a business roundtable.    The discussions centred on leveraging the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) to deepen bilateral collaboration across key sectors including trade, investment, education, clean energy, food and drink, and advanced manufacturing. At the International Maritime Organization's extraordinary session yesterday, India’s Permanent Representative HC Vikram Doraiswami expressed India’s concerns at the ongoing conflict in West Asia, underlining India’s commitment to safety of all seafarers, freedom of navigation, maritime security and securing trade and energy supply chains. Sharing India's condolences on the loss of innocent lives including 3 Indian seafarers, he reiterated India’s call for de-escalation through dialogue & diplomacy while emphasising that attacks on commercial shipping & civilian maritime infrastructure are unacceptable. He also mentioned India’s 24x7 helpline for all affected seafarers and the role played by IFC-IOR in information sharing and coordinating rescue efforts. #IMO #IMOCouncil #Maritime
