“The future of life sciences clusters will be built on real estate, not just innovation.” A strong insight from Orestis Tzortzoglou, Vice President at BioMed Realty, in this latest CoStar piece on the evolution of global life sciences hubs. As co-owner of Granta Park, BioMed Realty understands that breakthrough science also depends on the environments around it - creating campuses where talent, collaboration and companies can scale together. Cambridge continues to demonstrate the strength of that model. Read the full article below. https://lnkd.in/eMW6Ramq #Cambridge #Lifescience #RealEstate #GrantaPark

Last week we were delighted to welcome a mix of local and national brokers to Granta Park to meet with our landlord, BioMed Realty. Hosted in the park’s newest building, One Granta, the event provided an opportunity to showcase the exciting opportunities currently available across the park. Carl Williams from BioMed Realty shared an overview of the park’s next chapter and upcoming investment. Highlights included: • One Granta – Prime space available within Granta Park’s newest, flagship building. • The Franklin Building – Being reimagined and extended to 55,000 sq ft, delivering high-spec, flexible space for modern R&D occupiers while retaining much of the building’s existing structure. • The Milstein Building – A planning application has been submitted for a full refurbishment, creating a contemporary and sustainable workspace with flexible floorplates. • The Marjory Stephenson Building – Soon to undergo a full strip-out, paving the way for new laboratory and office space across two 10,000 sq ft floors. It was a great opportunity to connect with brokers and agents from across Cambridge and London, and highlight why Granta Park continues to be a leading location for life science and technology companies looking to grow. Thank you to everyone who joined us. #GrantaPark #LifeScience #Cambridge #Leasing

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the London Marathon this weekend - an incredible achievement! 🏃♂️ While we may not be tackling the full 26.2 miles here, we’ve recently launched a weekly Run Club at Granta Park. It’s a great opportunity for tenants to connect, enjoy some fresh air, and take on a relaxed 5K jog around the park. A big thank you to everyone who has joined us so far - it’s been fantastic to see the community getting involved. Special thanks to Park Landlord BioMed Realty for sponsoring our first event with goodies and to Orestis Tzortzoglou for leading the pack! We hope to welcome even more of you in the coming weeks. #RunClub #GrantaPark #Cambridge #Community

Ahead of World DNA Day tomorrow, we’re reflecting on the discovery that continues to shape life sciences today. On 25th April 1953, a discovery made in Cambridge revealed the structure of DNA, a breakthrough that reshaped biology and laid the foundation for modern life sciences. Seventy-three years on, Cambridge remains one of the most concentrated life science clusters in the world. From cancer and neurodegeneration to immunology, today’s research continues to build on that fundamental understanding of DNA. While the tools have evolved, accelerating timelines from decades to months, what hasn’t changed is the spirit of the ecosystem. It is defined by proximity of talent, constant exchange of ideas, and a shared belief that the next breakthrough is always within reach. At BioMed Realty, we think deeply about what it means to support that legacy. At Granta Park, it is about creating an environment where world-class science can thrive, because work of this importance deserves infrastructure designed to match. Happy World DNA Day from Cambridge, where discovery continues. #WorldDNADay #LifeSciences #Cambridge

As part of our Team Granta series, we’re highlighting the people who help keep the park running smoothly. This time, we’re featuring Jack Biard from Munro Building Services Ltd, our M&E contractor partner who is based on site at Granta Park. Jack has been working at Granta Park for two and a half years, building his technical knowledge while contributing to a park that continues to grow and evolve. “Every day at Granta Park brings something different, which is something I really enjoy. As part of the maintenance team, I work closely with colleagues to resolve issues, respond to new challenges and take initiative where needed. I enjoy the variety the role brings and the chance to make a real impact day to day.” For Jack, the people and environment make it even better. “Granta Park is a great place to work and somewhere I’m really proud to be part of. I’m lucky to work with a great team, and the facilities are a big plus too — especially the gym, Apiary and Clubhouse, particularly during the summer when events and sports are taking place.” Thank you Jack, for always being on hand to help, keep things running smoothly and for being the star player in our Summer of Sports events! #TeamGranta #GrantaPark #PeopleOfGranta

Cambridge has already built one of the world’s most powerful life sciences clusters - where discovery, development and commercialisation happen side by side. But success brings its own challenges. The next phase of growth will depend on whether the ecosystem can scale: more lab space, better infrastructure, deeper investment, and stronger support for companies moving from breakthrough science to global impact. Orestis Tzortzoglou, VP of Park landlord BioMed Realty recently shared his perspective in Business Weekly newspaper, reflecting on the strength and continued evolution of the southern Cambridge cluster.
