How technology & crypto-related innovations are shaping financial markets With so much at play in European financial regulation, EuroFi’s twice-annual conferences are a permanent fixture on our calendar. Last September, Hein Tibosch was part of a panel on tokenization and unlocking the next phase of digital finance. This edition, originally planned to take place in Cyprus but held online due to the situation in the Middle East, his panel focused on how technology and crypto-related innovations can support the objectives of The Savings & Investment Union launched in 2025. Being positioned at the intersection of traditional and digital markets gives us a clear view of the innovations shaping financial markets. Efficient capital markets are the great connector — linking Member States, investors, companies and citizens. But they need to work with less friction and at greater scale. That means deeper integration, greater efficiency and more transparency, so that capital flows freely to where it's needed most. ⚓ On our side, we found it valuable to share how Principal Trading Firms bring depth and liquidity to EU markets — and how end-users, from investors to pension funds, rely on that every day. We were pleased to find much common ground on the essential role our members collectively play in making markets work for the European economy. The EU now has a real opportunity to build a true Single Capital Market — and we were pleased to share our concrete ideas on how to get there. We look forward to continuing the conversation!
