Our simulation software is about to take a big step forward! To make it faster and safer to develop autonomous vehicles we’re introducing new processes and techniques. This project is possible thanks to funding from the UK Government’s £150 million CAM Pathfinder programme. We will be using Gaussian scene reconstruction, which uses images of an object to create a three-dimensional digital copy. It is photorealistic, and it uses less compute power than other methods. We’re also using diffusion, which enables a 3D model to be created with far fewer initial images. FIVE's Mid-Year All-Hands Meeting: Alignment, Strategy, and Success It was fantastic to gather the entire Five AI team in Cambridge for our mid-year All-Hands meeting. We aligned on our product strategy and celebrated the successes of a strong second quarter. Key highlights included deep dives into our latest achievements in sensor simulation and reinforcement learning, driving innovation in both our 1-stage and 2-stage stack development, including our state-of-the-art VLA (fast and efficient). It’s rewarding to see our long-term, AI-first approach delivering powerful results. We were inspired by our AI power users, who showcased their impressive achievements and creativity. Proud to see them always short on tokens ;-). We were pleased to have Marcel Brueckner join us from our Leonberg headquarters and Thomas Classen provide a highly valued update on our Alliance collaboration. A special thank you to Fora for hosting us in their beautiful garden room. The day concluded with a memorable social evening event hosted at the historic Clare College. After a reception in the beautiful gardens along the River Cam, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the main hall and continued the conversations in the college's traditional cellar bar—a unique experience. Last week, our Five Ai team had an incredible time at nor(DEV): Norfolk Developers in Norwich 🙌 It was fantastic to be part of one of the region’s leading tech events, packed with inspiring talks, meaningful conversations and a real buzz from the local developer community. The energy throughout was brilliant and it was great to see so much passion for technology and innovation under one roof. A huge thank you to everyone who came over to speak to us.
