AI adoption in hospitality isn’t happening where most people expect. As we celebrate Independent Accommodation Day, new industry data shows something interesting: 👉 Independent operators are moving faster than chains when it comes to practical AI. Not because they have more resources. But because they don’t have the same barriers. While large hotel groups struggle with: ➡️ Legacy systems ➡️ Data integration ➡️ Organisational inertia Independents are adopting: ➡️ Guest messaging tools ➡️ Content generation ➡️ Review analytics Tools that are: ✔ Quick to deploy ✔ Easy to integrate ✔ Immediately useful PwC forecasts growth in 2026. But with tighter margins and rising costs, efficiency isn’t optional anymore. And this is where independents have an advantage. They don’t need transformation programmes. They just need tools that work. This is exactly what Independent Accommodation Day is about. Celebrating operators who move fast, adapt quickly, and still deliver personal guest experiences. 🙌 As we celebrate Independent Accommodation Day! DirectBooker co-founder and CEO Sanjay Vakil shares why the future of booking could look less like search and more like conversation. Additionally, what that could mean for independent accommodation providers looking to stand out. #IndependentAccommodationDay #IndependentAccommodation #DirectBooking #Hospitality #TravelTech #HotelTech

Independent accommodation isn’t just a segment... It’s the backbone of the industry... The operators building something unique. The ones creating real guest experiences. The ones doing more with less, every single day. That’s why Independent Accommodation Day (#IAD26) matters. Great to see partners like GuestRevu supporting the movement alongside us. Because when independents are supported properly… the whole industry moves forward. #IndependentAccomodationDay
Celebrating Independent Accommodation Day 🏡 Today is all about recognising the independent hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and lodges that bring their unique character and personality to the hospitality industry. This initiative was started by our brilliant partners at eviivo to celebrate independent accommodation providers, and we’re really pleased to support both them and the many independent properties we work with. At GuestRevu, we’re proud to work alongside so many independent properties. Read more about Independent Accommodation Day: https://lnkd.in/dbF_qYbd #GuestRevu #HappyIADay #IAD2026

Most access systems don’t fail… they just don’t scale. ❌ Multiple apps. ❌ Copying codes. ❌ Guests waiting at the door. And it’s not because operators are doing anything wrong. It’s because the system wasn’t built to grow with them. What we’re seeing across the industry with Device Managers [ and why it matters for Independent Accommodation Day ] is a shift: 👉 Less patchwork 👉 More connected systems 👉 More control, with less manual work Because scaling isn’t just about adding properties… It’s about removing the bottlenecks that slow you down. “Secure by design” isn’t a feature. It’s the difference between managing access… and automating it. 👉 Great insights from Adam Buckmaster on how operators are rethinking access as they scale. #IndependentAccommodationDay #IAD26 #VacationRentals #PropertyManagement #HospitalityTech

Scaling a hospitality business should not mean creating more complexity. But in reality, growth often brings exactly that: more systems, more integrations, and more operational friction across the business. The cost of that is easy to underestimate, but it shows up quickly in time, efficiency and margin. It’s encouraging to see this called out clearly by one of our operators, Frenchospitality, where COO Mathieu Weiss shared in Hospitality Investor how they tackled those challenges as they expanded: "Whenever we open a new property, tech is the key component... That’s why we prefer an all-in-one platform like eviivo. The real gain has been replacing multiple tools – PMS, channel manager, CRM, booking engine, payment processor – with just one. For a 40-room hotel, this means savings of up to €9,000 per month." Growth should give operators more control, not more tools or a web of integrations to untangle. The right tech foundation makes a real difference, especially when it can scale smoothly across different property types. Thank you Hospitality Investor for the feature. Hotel growth gets expensive when your tech stack grows faster than your portfolio. One of the clearest points in this piece is that scaling does not have to mean adding more systems. Often, the real advantage comes from removing them. By replacing separate tools for PMS, channel management, CRM, booking engine, and payments with one all-in-one platform, hotel groups can simplify operations, reduce friction, and create more room to grow. In this example, for a 40-room hotel, that meant savings of up to €9,000 per month and a reduction in tech stack costs from around 4% of revenue to 1%. That is the bigger story here: less complexity, more control, and better margins as portfolios expand. A strong read for anyone thinking about standardisation, flexibility, and the role of technology in hotel growth. What does “secure by design” actually mean in hospitality? Because for most operators… it still looks like shared codes, manual updates, and hoping nothing goes wrong. The reality is security isn’t just about locks. It’s about control at scale. ✔️ Unique access for every guest ✔️ Codes that activate and expire automatically ✔️ The ability to override instantly when needed No manual setup. No chasing messages. No risk stacking as you grow. This is what “secure by design” should actually look like in practice. Not more effort. Just better systems doing the work for you. Great insight from Adam Buckmaster on how this should work inside Device Manager. The real question: is your current setup built for control… or just coping? Travel search has changed... What are you doing about it? The booking journey is still catching up. For years, guests searched in fragments. Now they’re asking AI for the full brief that is hyper personalized. That shift matters. For independent accommodation providers, the opportunity is not just to appear in AI-led discovery. It’s to make sure the path from search to direct booking is ready to convert intent into action. That “last mile” of the journey is still where trust, accuracy, and bookings are won. #DirectBooking #HospitalityTech #AIInTravel #IAD26

AI might reshape travel search faster than most hotels are prepared for. That was one of the most interesting takeaways from our conversation with Sanjay Vakil, Founder of DirectBooker. We’ve trained ourselves to search in short phrases on Google. Now, with AI, people are asking longer, more detailed questions and expecting highly specific answers. But when it comes to real pricing, real availability, and real inventory, that’s where the journey can still break down. That creates a huge opportunity for independent accommodation providers. Because the businesses that win won’t just “show up” in AI-led discovery. They’ll be the ones that can also connect inspiration to action, and turn intent into a completed booking. Worth saving if you work in hospitality marketing, distribution, or direct booking: ➡️ AI is changing guest search behaviour ➡️ Discovery is becoming more conversational ➡️ Conversion still depends on accurate, live booking data ➡️ Independent properties need to be part of that journey too This is still early. But the shift is already happening. Great insight from Sanjay and the team at Direct Booker. #Directbooking #HospitalityTech #AllInTravel #IAD26
