We relaunched Tell Allan last week – and it's been great to see the response from colleagues across the business!💡 Tell Allan gives our colleagues another feedback channel to share their ideas that help make Asda an even better place to shop and work💚 We know colleague suggestions genuinely make a difference - with many ideas still in place from when the original concept launched in the 1990s. One idea raised at the time by a colleague in our York store suggested that retired colleagues should be able to keep their discount cards. This was adopted and is still in place today - retired colleagues can keep their discount card for 12 months, or for life with over 20 years’ service 💚 The refreshed Tell Allan makes it even easier for colleagues to share ideas, big or small, and helps us to keep improving things for both our customers and our colleagues.

Our latest Income Tracker, produced in partnership with Cebr, paints a mixed picture for households. While the average UK household saw a modest improvement in disposable income last month, driven by easing inflation, young adults and the lowest earners remain worse off than they were before the cost-of-living crisis. Under-30s, those aged 30–49 and the lowest earners all recorded an annual decline in disposable income and, as a result, have less to spend on non-essential items than they did a year ago. 🥞 This Pancake Day, we’re celebrating the flipping amazing Asda Kilmarnock bakery colleague who has made over 5 million pancakes! 🥞💚 James Smith is a true legend in our stores - and in the bakery world. With nearly 25 years at Asda and an incredible 56 years in the bakery trade, James is a true master of his craft. During his time with us alone, he estimates he’s gone through 40,000 bags of pancake mix and created a staggering 5 million pancakes for Scottish customers over the years. Scotland is truly the home of pancake fans, with all top 11 Asda stores for pancake sales located north of the border. Our top five Scottish stores sell around 3,000 pancakes every week - placing Scotland firmly at the top of the pancake pile! Last week, we were delighted to welcome 28 Members of Parliament into our stores as part of #NationalApprenticeshipWeek - marking a record number of MP visits in just one week. Apprenticeships play a vital role in helping our colleagues build the skills they need to thrive, while developing the next generation of retail leaders. It was fantastic to showcase our in‑store apprentices in action and highlight the impact these programmes have on career progression across our business. We continue to champion the importance of leadership apprenticeships, particularly amid reports of potential government defunding. These programmes are proven pathways that deliver real value for our colleagues, our business, and the wider retail sector - so it was brilliant to discuss this with so many engaged MPs. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the week such a success!

Roses are red, Asda is green - and our married colleagues in Enniskillen are the true workplace dream team 💚🌹 We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day by shining a spotlight on some of the incredible colleagues at Asda Enniskillen - and these six married couples have an astonishing 79 years of wedded bliss between them! From chance meetings on night shifts to bonds formed across departments, each couple has their own story about how Asda has played a part in their journey together. The store's community champion Simon said: “It’s lovely to have so many happy couples on the team here at the store. Each and everyone of them is a great asset to us, and all these strong relationships in the mix contributes to the lovely family feeling we’ve got here at Asda Enniskillen."
