Marketing Strategy Leader | Make Marketing Matter

What a brilliant morning we had at the Alliance Manchester Business School last Friday discussing AI, business strategy and digital transformation with Datel customers, colleagues and partners. A huge thank you to our panellists Andrea Lagna, Christine Parker Stubbs, and Tim Purcell for such an honest, thoughtful and practical conversation. And thank you to everyone who joined us. The energy in the room, the questions, and the willingness to share experiences are exactly what makes the Datel community so special. A few of my personal takeaways from the discussion: 🔹 1. From Andrea: Start with a Digital Mindset Andrea recommended the book The Digital Mindset by Paul Leonardi and Tsedal Neeley, and specifically the 3 Cs: Collaboration, Computation and Change. A brilliant reminder that effective AI adoption isn’t just technical, it requires new ways of working together, understanding how data flows through the organisation, and embracing continuous change. 🔹 2. From Christine: AI is a tool, not the strategy Christine brought us back to something fundamental: don’t start with AI, start with the problem. Before choosing AI, ask what are we trying to fix or improve and where are the biggest challenges and opportunities? It sounds simple, but it’s often the missing step. 🔹 3. From Tim: AI and the Digital Evolution mindset Tim connected AI to our Datel philosophy of digital evolution: test, learn, iterate, evolve. Small steps, meaningful improvement, and learning as you go. AI isn’t a big bang moment and it works best when we treat it as an opportunity to experiment, refine and grow capability over time. Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed. I’m already looking forward to the next Datel Connect session, and to continuing these conversations. If you were there, I’d love to hear how you found the discussion and what you’d like to see in the next one.

As part of this agreement, Marcus Kendrew has joined the Datel team, bringing his knowledge and expertise to support Fusion Capture’s continued development, we’re thrilled to have him on board. We would also like to thank Alec Willis and the Defacto team for their collaboration and professionalism throughout this process. • Like many businesses, we’d outgrown the systems we’d relied on for years. They’d served us well, but they weren’t built for where we were headed, or how we needed to work. We knew it was time to rethink things. 🔁 In this short clip, MD Stuart Morland shares why Sage Intacct stood out. It gave us the speed to move quickly, the flexibility to adapt, and the integrations to keep everything working together. If you’re weighing up your own options, the full story includes a few lessons we learned along the way: https://okt.to/OYEA5I 🟥 Power to your potential ®️ #SageIntacct #DigitalTransformation
