Well done to the Department for Education who has achieved Constructing the Gold Standard Full Verification for its CF25 Construction Framework — the first framework to be procured under the new Procurement Act. The £15.4bn CF25 framework will act as the DfE’s primary procurement vehicle for high-value, high-volume design and build projects across the national education estate. Congratulations to Sarah Peace MCIPS Chartered, IACCM, TPP Adv Pract and Sarah Laing Gibbens MRICS and their team. Thorough work from Independent Verifier Kevin Murray and great leadership from Professor David Mosey CBE. This is exactly what the Gold Standard agenda is about — turning policy into practical, measurable improvement across the built environment.

The Constructing Excellence Procurement Group recently investigated one of construction’s most persistent questions: the economics of social value — and, ultimately, who pays for it. It’s that’s widely referenced in policy and tenders, but still misunderstood in practice: cost, ownership and deliverability.
