We've teamed up with Leeds Rhinos Foundation to launch our Checkatrade Community Club Takeover Nights - a series of dedicated evenings supporting community rugby league clubs across the city. Each takeover night will include rugby league taster sessions, CPD for coaches, and educational workshops. But this partnership is about more than sport: these events help build confidence, develop skills, and inspire the next generation - including opening doors to careers in the trades, where the UK urgently needs 350,000 additional apprentices to meet demand. The power of community 🔧 🏉 https://lnkd.in/eUnc35FR

Great to see Checkatrade’s partnership with the Rhinos making an impact well beyond Leeds today. Our CEOs, Jambu Palaniappan and Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE, took to the stage at the iconic Oval as part of the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (AAN) Conference 2026, which brings together employers committed to championing #apprenticeships across England. The Network has had an immense impact to date - visiting nearly every secondary school in the country and engaging over 3,000 SMEs, the backbone of the economy. The event theme of Celebrating Success - Building On Our Impact was about doubling down on that progress and bringing the right organisations together to make more great apprenticeships available to more people. Here's to our partnership opening doors and creating real opportunities through sport and skilled trades 🦏 🔧

Our weekly All Hands keep our teams focused. This week, we did things a bit differently. Team Blue (Gorden Pretorius & Margaux Campagnoli) took on Team Red (Paul McManus & Helen Kennedy-Shamir) in a high-stakes wallpapering showdown. Highlights: 👠 Helen didn’t even take off her heels 🦾 Gorden was spotted breaking a sweat 🎯 Some… creative techniques from Team Red The result: Blue Team takes the win 🏆 Verdict? We might stick to leaving it to the experts… But it did get us thinking 👀 With 50,000+ tradespeople on Checkatrade, what would happen if the real pros went head-to-head? Consider this a lil teaser for The Checkatrade Games: The Ultimate Test of Craft and Graft 🔧 Coming soon...

What should AI policy prioritise as the technology reshapes work? Our CEO Jambu Palaniappan argues it should focus on economic resilience. Jambu is the first business leader featured in a new Friday AI Q&A series from The Morning Intelligence — a newsletter covering the people, policy and politics shaping AI in the UK. Drawing on his perspective leading Checkatrade, he shares thoughts on how AI will change jobs, industries and the policy choices ahead. Worth a read 👇 https://lnkd.in/eRh8egat

Yesterday we came together in the office for a special event to mark International Women's Day 2026 ✨ This year’s theme “Give to Gain” sparked an important conversation about how intentional support, active allyship and inclusive leadership can have a lasting impact across an organisation. Hosted by our COO and ally Mathieu Proust, the panel brought together a fantastic mix of perspectives. We heard from Emma Grant Ashley Bartley (Cope) and Zarina Kavazova ACMI, alongside guest speaker Mira Magecha Magecha, former Chief People Officer at Just Eat and founder of Trust Leadership. Mira shared powerful insights on how trust is the currency that turns support into real career growth. Whether it’s recognising a colleague’s work, checking in with someone, or championing a new voice, these everyday “gives” are what help build a stronger, more inclusive Checkatrade community. #IWD2026 #GiveToGain #Allyship #Inclusion #Leadership #Checkatrade

It’s #WomenInConstructionWeek, and we’re shining a spotlight on the professionals who are quite literally building the future. The UK is currently facing a critical workforce challenge. With an ageing workforce and a widening skills gap, the industry needs over 250,000 new workers by 2028 just to keep pace with housing and infrastructure demands. 📈 The reality? We cannot build the homes, hospitals, and schools of tomorrow without the talent and dedication of women today. Women currently make up around 15% of the total construction workforce, but that number is growing every year. From mastering specialist technical trades on site to leading project management, women aren’t just "filling a gap" they are bringing the precision, leadership, and expertise the UK needs to thrive. ⚒️ At Checkatrade, we’re proud to support the skilled female professionals who are breaking barriers and proving that excellence has no gender. To the apprentices just starting and the veterans leading the way: you aren’t just part of the industry; you are the solution. 🚀 #WICWeek2026 #WomenInConstruction #BuildingTheFuture #UKTrades #Tradeswomen
