A quick catch-up on what we've been up to over the last few months at Captive Devices. The standout was the full music video we made with Owen Seabrook from Goblin Academy. One of the most fun and gloriously chaotic shoots we've been part of, taking CoreHMC capture all the way through to a finished creative piece. Really proud of how this one turned out: https://lnkd.in/eXixWVve We also got to demo CoreHMC live at GDC with Vicon. If you missed the talk, it's now online: https://lnkd.in/e_yRE9p4 And we're just getting started. Some big new features are coming that we think you're going to love, with more to share very soon. If you'd like to test, rent, or chat about how CoreHMC could fit into your pipeline, get in touch. #facialcapture #mocap #pcap

Thank you so much for having us along Target3D | The Mechanics Behind Creativity it was great to get to show the equipment off.
MPTS may be over for this year, but we’re reflecting on a very successful event, and grateful to all those who stopped by our stand, which we shared with our partner Digital Catapult. We were absolutely thrilled with the turnout over both days. Being able to introduce so many technology enthusiasts to OptiTrack's markerless Duplex Mode was a pleasure, but it was also great to hear positive feedback from industry veterans who have witnessed the progression of motion capture over the past 20+ years. We also displayed a live feed of that OptiTrack Duplex Mode data in Unreal Engine and then rendered it in 3D on our Sony Spatial Reality Display. Many were surprised at how believable the 3D effect is, even without glasses or VR headsets. On our last day we were joined by our friend Fred Isaac at Captive Devices, who showed visitors the CoreHMC head mounted camera system - a facial motion capture solution that is making a mark in animation and motion capture studios. If you didn’t get a chance to see us at the show, get in contact and we can set you up with a free demo from our London HQ: sales@target3d.co.uk Thanks again to our partners at Digital Catapult, OptiTrack, The Captury, Sony, Captive Devices, and to all the visitors who came and had a go! #mocap #motioncapture #markerless #markerlessmocap #immersivetech #MPTS #Target3D

Excited to see what Brian Rausch and the House of Moves team can do with the CoreHMC.
What a week at House of Moves. Mocap babies (videos to come if mom/dad sign off), markerless, markers, mocap crop-tops, helmets, AI, UE, good friends and pure chaos. Amidst everything I spent a day doing comparative analysis between my markered system and the Move Genesis system. I'll whip up some videos and share those later in the week most likely. Big shout out to Jack Broome from MOVE for coming out and giving of his time and knowledge. Thanks Ryan Damm for flexing so hard with us and being giving of your set time. Andrew Cochrane and Chris Ellerby, thank you for building the Clubhouse in Santa Monica and stacking so many killer technology partners in there... and inviting us to come hang. Eric LaShelle my long time brother in arms at House of Moves, as always I feel way better knowing that you've got your eyes on the animation. Immersive Enterprise Laboratories - IEL, Daniel Urbach, Blake Baxter... once again what a killer week building things, testing technology and figuring out how to help people tell stories faster. Fred Isaac, thank you for the Captive Devices HMC to work out. I'll send you a video, but man that thing was super easy to use and setup. It's well thought out dude you should be proud. Peel Software Development LLC, thanks for dropping off the gear and access to Peel Capture for this week. Brandin Elmore, @Krystle Martin, ATLAS! The mocap family came to play. Baby slept, baby played, baby-capped. Taylor (Tot) Rohrig, you're a damn treasure. Thanks for picking up the camera and taping my nonsense. I'm glad we got to look deeper into the markerless you've been interested in. HP Z Workstations & Solutions kitted us out and made our world fast as hell. A lot of studios came through to talk tech, AI and the future of production. I'll post videos when I have some time to make them. But I didn't want the thank you post to wait until I had time. Thank you all, I really do appreciate how much fun I have when I'm with all of you. #HouseOfMoves #HouseOfMoves4pointOH #BuiltDifferent #MotionCapture #PerformanceCapture #VirtualProduction #MarkerlessMocap #MoveAI #MoveGenesis #UnrealEngine #RealtimeProduction #AIProduction #AnimationPipeline #CreativeTechnology #ProductionTechnology #PipelineIntegrity #FutureOfProduction #MocapFamily #ClubhouseSantaMonica #RightToolForTheJob #IEL #HPz

The CoreHMC in action for one of the most unique uses of performance capture we have ever been a part of.
Will it Mocap? Episode 3 is LIVE and this time, we've kicked things up a notch... 👺 After some unsolicited slander from a few uppity Wizards, Owen Seabrook the Goblin King of Goblin Academy did what any reasonable ruler of a mystical realm would do: fired up Unreal Engine, built a MetaHuman Goblin King avatar, strapped on a Captive Devices for facial capture, and recorded a banger. 🎧 This episode, we push our indie mocap studio into the world of real-time metahumans, and the results are... genuinely kind of incredible? We had an incredible time sharing the stage with our partners at Vicon at GDC. If you missed our presentation, the full session is now available online. Watch our co-founder, Fred Isaac, break down the best practices in facial performance capture and showcase a live demo of our CoreHMC in action. Key highlights from the session: - Live vs. Post-Production: Why clearly defining your end goal is crucial before choosing your workflow. - Digital Doubles: Why a 1-to-1 digital double workflow is an absolute must for achieving top-tier animation quality. - The Three Pillars of Comfort: How prioritizing Actor, Lighting, and Operator comfort can make or break a shoot. Huge thanks to the Vicon team for hosting us on stage. Give the presentation a watch below.

Day 1 of actual GDC, what a whirlwind but some great conversations and some awesome projects on the way. Vicon thanks for having me so far and Jeffrey Ovadya, David 'Ed' Edwards and the rest of the team for putting up with me. Awesome to be able to show what we can do together.

“When it came to equipping the stage, the philosophy was super simple. “Get the absolute best. No compromises, no cutting corners. “They went out and sourced the most top tier, best in class tech you can find to make sure every bit of data they captured was perfect. “And this is where the magic really happens. We're talking about the latest generation of Vicon cameras tracking every tiny movement. “We're talking the highest-res head mounted cameras (Captive Devices) to capture every subtle facial expression. “And this is the big one. A full, real-time pipeline that feeds directly into Unreal Engine. Now that is a total game changer.” I’m very excited to see the creative output from India’s largest motion capture facility - the A&M MoCap Lab in Hyderabad - thanks to this outstanding collaboration between Annapurna Studios, Mihira Visual Labs, and Animatrik Film Design 👏🏼🔥 Thank you for the kind words NAVDEEP 🎯🙏 #SSRajamouli #vfx #motioncapture
🎬 India’s Largest Motion Capture Facility is Now in Hyderabad A major step forward for India’s film, animation, and gaming industry. Hyderabad has introduced India’s largest motion capture facility through a collaboration between Annapurna Studios, Mihira Visual Labs, and Animatrik Film Design. The lab uses Vicon motion capture cameras and Unreal Engine, creating a powerful environment for capturing complex stunts, action choreography, and cinematic performances. Director S.S. Rajamouli has also emphasized how such advanced technologies are essential for modern storytelling and has already used the facility for his own projects. For creators working in games, virtual production, animation, and immersive media, this is a huge milestone. Access to world-class motion capture infrastructure in India will open new possibilities for realistic character performances, virtual production pipelines, and high-quality storytelling. In this short video, I explain why this development is important for the future of creative technology in India. #MotionCapture #UnrealEngine #VirtualProduction #GameDevelopment #Animation #CreativeTechnology #Hyderabad
