We’ve just wrapped up a fantastic series of employee roadshows across our North West network, bringing together more than 800 colleagues to reflect on what we’ve achieved and look ahead to what’s next. Hosted over multiple days in Leigh and Carnforth, the events placed us right at the heart of the communities we serve and support every day. As we transition into a new regulatory period that will shape the next five years, there’s a real sense of momentum, opportunity and excitement about the role we will continue to play in the UK’s energy future. But the highlight came just before our first session even began - the news that our North West network ranked #1 in Cadent for customer satisfaction in 2025–26. A brilliant achievement and a testament to the dedication and commitment of our teams. Across the sessions, we: • Reinforced our focus on safety and customers through interactive breakout discussions • Connected colleagues with key partners, from PPE and pensions to health and wellbeing support • Shared a clear message from leadership: there is a long-term future for gas networks, with a vital role to play in the UK’s energy mix well beyond 2050 We were also delighted to welcome the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFTcharity), our new Cadent Foundation Community Fund charity partner for 2026–2028. Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, we raised over £1,300 during the roadshows - with plenty more fundraising opportunities to come in the months ahead. A huge thank you to everyone who made these events such a success. The energy, pride and commitment on display show exactly what makes the North West team so special. #NorthWest #EngineeringExcellence #SafeandWell

Hydrogen Week has certainly lived up to its name – busy, inspiring and full of energy. From insightful discussions at Utility Week Live to being out in force across Hydrogen Week, one thing has come through loud and clear: the passion, innovation and skills driving the future of hydrogen are stronger than ever. We were delighted to join the North West Hydrogen Alliance’s ‘Delivering the Hydrogen Economy’ event, where our Project Director, Robert Donovan, took part in a HyNet panel exploring how the UK’s leading industrial cluster is shaping the future of energy. What stood out across the week is the scale of ambition and momentum behind hydrogen, particularly across the North West of England and North Wales. The region is ready, and the HyNet Hydrogen Network is ready to deliver, positioning the North West at the very heart of the UK’s hydrogen economy for generations to come. A huge thank you to our teams who have been out engaging, sharing insight, and championing the role of hydrogen in a future-focused energy system. #H2Week #H2Economy26 #Hydrogen #EnergyTransition #Innovation #NetZero

Utility Week has this week reported on a recent report by Stonehaven , which identifies biomethane as a solution to help unlock the UK’s artificial intelligence revolution. The study highlighted an energy infrastructure gap if Government is to deliver its ambitious AI targets, with commitments to increase AI capacity from 0.5GW in 2025 to 6GW by 2030. As well as finding that green gas is well positioned to address these challenges, thanks to the possibility of using existing gas grid infrastructure to deliver at scale, the report makes several recommendations to Government. These include the need to align energy planning with AI growth targets and removing barriers to scaling biomethane production in the UK. 47 biomethane producers are already connected to our network, while an additional 38 applications were filed in March this year for new or expanded UK plants. What a couple of days it has been at Utility Week Live at the NEC in Birmingham! 🤝 Our team were out in force and we welcomed a fantastic number of visitors to our stand. It was brilliant to speak with so many people about the vital role of the gas network, and what the future of energy looks like for homes and businesses across the country. Beyond the stand, we were proud to contribute to a range of conversations at the heart of the event, with several of our leaders taking to the numerous stages across a range of sessions... 🎤 🗣️ Anthony Ballance, Chief Strategy and Regulation Officer, brought his expertise to the 'Reimagining the energy system for clean power 2030 and beyond' session – a topic that sits right at the heart of our long-term strategic thinking.  🗣️Bianca Cooper LLB Hons, Transformation and Programme Director, joined a select panel of cyber security professionals to discuss how the sector can strengthen operational resilience while safeguarding customers, assets, and critical national infrastructure. 🗣️ Chris Rison, Head of Smart Network, featured in two sessions during the event. On Tuesday, he sat in the Innovation Lounge for an open and honest discussion about the journey from a trial to a business-as-usual solution. The following day he joined a panel to discuss how network operators are embracing AI to drive productivity, reduce operational risk and drive efficiency.  🗣️Also taking a double shift was Dr Angela Needle FEI, Director of Strategy, who was joined by colleagues from EDF, National Energy System Operator and the Environment Agency to discuss delivering sustainable utilities to drive economic prosperity and support the UK’s growth agenda. After a quick break, Angela was back on stage again for a second conversation hosted by WUN - Womens Utilities Network about the critical role organisations play in actively shaping progress for women through visible role modelling and different approaches to achieving diversity. Utility Week Live is always a calendar highlight, and this year was no exception. We are proud to have been part of an event which reminds us why collaboration, openness and shared ambition matter so much as our sector navigates the energy transition. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, attended our sessions, and took the time to share their thoughts. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did! #UtilityWeekLive #Cadent #EnergyTransition #GasNetworks #Utilities #CleanEnergy #SmartNetworks #WUN #Biomethane

🐝 It’s World Bee Day and you might say we’re buzzing about this post … A recently decommissioned offtake site in our West Midlands Network remains a hive of activity – after welcoming new inha-bee-tants. Three hives is just a start, to see how they settle, with the hope to grow the colony over time. Huge thanks to Warwick and Leamington Beekeepers, who helped us to make this happen. It is a brilliant association, helping organisations across the region to create real, lasting change for pollinators. At Cadent, this is all part of making sure our work doesn’t just co-exist with nature, but actively supports it.  From repurposing land, to strengthening community partnerships and building on our recognition through the Wildlife Trusts’ Biodiversity Benchmark,  we’re serious about doing our bit for a greener, healthier future. Because without bees, things would unravel pretty quickly. They are the ultimate powerhouse workers, keeping ecosystems ticking and helping life to flourish.   If you’re interested in how we’re working to keep people warm while protecting the planet, you can find out more here: 👉 https://orlo.uk/9fZaE #WorldBeeDay #GreenerSociety #Sustainability

Today, we’re launching a new programme that is set to explore the potential of hybrid heating systems to better support vulnerable households.   This project will see ten households across our network receive a free upgraded hybrid heating system, removing any potential cost barriers that can be associated with decarbonising household heating.   To qualify, each household will have: ✅ An EPC rating of D or below ✅ One resident with a health or personal condition that increases vulnerability to cold weather ✅ An income of no more than £31,000, or that meets eligibility for a means-tested benefit. Partnering with Worcester Bosch, TAGGAS LTD, Guidehouse and YES Energy Solutions, we will be measuring energy efficiency and the energy use of the systems.   Earl Richards IEng MIGEM, who leads our Services Beyond the Meter programme, said: “Decarbonising household heating systems is essential for meeting the UK’s net zero and clean power goals. However, we know that for many households, the cost and complexity of upgrades can be a barrier. That’s why we are investing in this programme, to demonstrate what is possible for all households, including those who are most vulnerable.”   Find out more 👉 https://lnkd.in/eu_7sw6W
