Most people know Mike Rowe from his days on Dirty Jobs, but his dedication to highlighting the everyday tradesperson goes far beyond the screen. Brunswick’s Hunter Hawkins recently sat down with him to uncover what we often overlook about the folks who ensure the lights come on when you flip the switch and how mikeroweWORKS is helping people achieve their fullest potential.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/eqRbApHr

  • Poker isn't just a game—it’s a powerful tool for building confidence, strategic thinking, and risk management. Much like in a boardroom, poker teaches you how to take calculated risks, stand your ground, bluff when necessary, and strategize your way to success. ♥️ ♣️♦️♠️ In partnership with POLITICO, we recently convened a community of Washington DC's women leaders in business policy, government relations, law, and communications for cocktails and a lesson from the coaches at Poker Power on how the skills poker can translate to the business world. Thank you to everyone who joined for an enjoyable, fun-filled evening, and our hosts at Brunswick DC & POLITICO. • As part of Brunswick Group’s partnership with Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service, we were proud to co-host an engaging conversation on the future of American trade policy. Ambassador Robert Lighthizer, former U.S. Trade Representative and a chief architect of President Trump’s trade agenda, joined Brunswick Senior Advisor Christopher Padilla for a timely and wide-ranging discussion on the motivations behind the administration’s tariff strategy, its global ripple effects, and what it may signal for the next phase of U.S. trade policy. This event marked the fifth and final installment in our partnership series, which brought together top political voices including Chris LaCivita, Senior Advisor to President Trump’s 2024 campaign; Jen O’Malley Dillon, Chair of former Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign; Former U.S. Senator Doug Jones; and Jonathan Swan, national political reporter at The New York Times. We’re grateful to Mo Elleithee and the team at GU Politics for their collaboration throughout this insightful and timely series. #GUPolitics

  • We are delighted to welcome Sharon Soderstrom to Brunswick as a Senior Advisor. Sharon brings more than 40 years of experience working in the Senate, most recently as Chief of Staff to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. She first joined McConnell’s leadership office in 2010 and played a major role in guiding the Republican Party during her tenure. She is widely recognized as an expert on Senate rules and procedure, and her expertise on legislative strategy has earned her respect across the political spectrum. Sharon’s deep political knowledge and experience will be invaluable as Brunswick’s clients continue to adapt to the rapidly shifting policy environment.

  • The intersection of antitrust, national security, and geopolitics is becoming impossible to ignore—especially for companies navigating cross-border deals in today’s volatile environment.   Last week, the Competition practice had the pleasure of organizing our Brunswick Spring Meeting Lunch—now in its fourth year—bringing together clients and colleagues for a timely discussion on the shifting regulatory and political landscape across Washington, Brussels, London, and Beijing. This was held during the Annual Major Antitrust Spring Meeting of the American Bar Association.   Our panel of Brunswick experts unpacked two real-world scenarios in tech and defense to explore how businesses can anticipate and respond to growing regulatory and geopolitical scrutiny. We were delighted to be joined by our nonexecutive board member Deborah Majoras, who was a former Chair of the Federal Trade Commission.   Huge thanks to the 58 external guests who joined us and contributed to such a dynamic discussion!   #antitrust #geopolitics #nationalsecurity #dealmaking #regulatorystrategy #BrunswickGroup
