Break into one market, then expand. Mathieu calls it "the Accordion strategy" → In deeptech, you’re always selling to two people : the technical champion and the budget holder, you need both. → Open innovation is not your customer : Innovation teams can open doors, but real traction starts when a business unit with budget gets involved. Proud to co-lead BioOrbit's $13.2M seed round alongside LocalGlobe, the world's largest seed round ever raised for in-space manufacturing. ❌ Today, most cancer treatments mean hours of IV infusion at hospital. It's expensive, exhausting, and for many, inaccessible. 🟢 BioOrbit is changing that: their BOX platform uses low earth orbit microgravity to crystallise protein drugs at ultra-high concentrations, enabling at-home subcutaneous injections for cancer patients. Put very simply: some drugs are impossible to make on Earth. In space, the absence of gravity allows them to form in a way that turns a hospital IV drip into a simple injection you can do at home, reducing costs for hospitals by up to 90% and making treatment far more accessible for patients. 🙌 Dr. Katie King, PhD (Cambridge scientist, CEO) and Dr. Leonor Teles (oncology researcher) founded BioOrbit in 2023 and are already backed by letters of intent from major US pharma and endorsed by the UK Space Agency, MHRA, CAA and Major Tim Peake.
