So, you graduate as an art student. Then what? 😖 Environment Concept Artist, Thomas Osbourne, recently spoke to the Concept Art cohort at University of Staffordshire, his alma mater, about life after graduation. When asked about the experience, this is what he had to say: "As a student I had this fear of the unknown when it came to graduating and finding work within the industry, as many students do. That's why it was such a privilege when Lecturer Joe Gronow at the University of Staffordshire, the exact university I went to, reached out to us to arrange a session to talk about that transitionary period. Having that experience meant that I could give targeted advice that was applicable to their exact situation, which I hope proves useful for them all. We had some amazing and thought provoking questions from the students too, which helped me to reflect on my own time through the industry. 𝗩𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 – 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝟮: UI/UX to sink your teeth into Atomhawk’s UI/UX team helped to define and refine features on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 through a structured UX process. Each feature began with discussions with to identify requirements from both a gameplay and user experience perspective, working closely with the client's Game Design team from the very beginning. User flows were created, then evolved into wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma, which were continuously tested and iterated in close collaboration with the client’s game design team. Once approved, the work was fully documented in Confluence. The UI Artists then created the UI assets and integrated them, following the UX wireframes.
