  • Hot take for a Monday morning 👇 👇 👇 Everyone wants agentic AI in HR. But very few organizations have defined what AI should actually be trusted to do, and that’s what’s blocking progress. Does this ring true for your organization?

Everyone wants agentic AI. Not everyone is ready for what that really means. In HR service delivery, the question isn’t whether AI can act. It’s what should it be allowed to do, under what conditions, and with what safeguards. That’s why an autonomy ladder matters: Level 1: inform Level 2: recommend Level 3: draft Level 4: execute with confirmation Level 5: execute with oversight This is the shift HR leaders should make now: stop treating AI like a chat feature and start designing it like an operational capability. Because the value isn’t in “more AI conversations.” It’s in safer outcomes at scale: - trusted answers from governed knowledge - better next steps based on employee context - faster drafting and case support for HR teams - bounded actions with human confirmation where needed - monitored automation with alerts, sampling, and rollback when risk is higher For a 1,000-employee organization, routine HR queries can consume around 12,800 hours a year. And when live support can cost around $22 versus roughly $2 for self-service, the goal becomes clear: don’t just answer more questions. Redesign the service model. Read more: https://buff.ly/7Otogtm
