We were proud to host “Ethical AI: Power, Purpose & Responsibility” in partnership with B Lab Singapore and The Great Room this week. It was an engaging room full of thoughtful questions and honest conversation about what it takes to use AI responsibly, with purpose, and in a way that genuinely serves people and society.   A huge thank you to our brilliant panel:   Munas van Boonstra (Monks) Wan Sie LEE (IMDA) Zia Zaman (Microsoft) Paddy Balfour (Acre)   From governance and bias, to transparency and real-world implementation, the discussion reinforced the idea that ethical AI is essential for building trust and making an impact as the technology develops.   A big thanks to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a meaningful exchange. More to come.

Competition for renewable energy development professionals across Europe remains intense. The talent pool is tight, and many of our clients are experiencing long lead times when hiring for critical roles — in some cases, taking several months to secure the right person. There have been clear market fluctuations over the past year, including divestments by some major players, organisations scaling back parts of their renewable portfolios, and ongoing grid congestion in several markets, which continues to restrict the pace at which renewable energy pipelines can move forward. Despite this, demand for senior renewable energy development professionals remains strong across technologies, including solar, wind, and BESS. In particular, companies are looking for leaders who can lead teams and navigate what has been a challenging and uncertain market across Europe. In this environment, a proactive search approach is often the most effective way to secure the right talent. Having a well-defined role and clear expectations also makes a real difference. At Acre, we support clients with searches across both senior corporate roles and asset-level positions. Below are some of the searches the Acre team is currently running across EMEA. Feel free to reach out to Grigoria Tsemperoglou or Canace Wong at Acre for a conversation on how to find the right talent to scale your ambitions in building and managing a robust development pipeline.

One of the best ways to start improving your organisation’s impact is through the B Impact Assessment (BIA), which we’re spotlighting at Acre during week 2 of B Corp Month.   Acre has held B Corp certification since 2022, and we work closely with both B Lab and a range of B Corp certified organisations. We strongly believe in the benefits of certifications, several of which Thomas Devlin outlined in his post last week, and these benefits extend well beyond organisations that are already certified.   The B Impact Assessment is perhaps a lesser known yet highly effective tool offered by B Lab to support organisations on their journey towards creating more positive impact.   The BIA is free and confidential, allowing organisations to input data related to governance, employees, community, the environment, and customers. Once entered, practices and outputs are assessed and benchmarked against thousands of other businesses that have also completed the assessment.   Using this tool is the first step towards becoming B Corp certified, but even before certification it offers valuable insights and practical approaches to improving your organisation’s performance in social and environmental impact, as well as ethics and transparency.   There is also ample support available to help create roadmaps, set goals, and track change over time so that you are consistently improving and progressing towards official certification.   If you are thinking about joining the community and looking to bring in the leadership and support needed for the journey, please reach out.

The future of sustainability depends on informed decisions, and informed decisions depend on real data from professionals like you. We’re inviting everyone across the sustainability field to take part in the 2026 Sustainability Census. Your input will help create a free, global report capturing the current state of sustainability practice, from priorities and challenges to budgets, skills gaps, and emerging trends. The results will provide valuable insights for: - Sustainability leaders shaping strategy - Organisations benchmarking their progress - Professionals planning their careers - The wider community advocating for change This is an opportunity to contribute to a shared understanding of where we stand in 2026 and where we need to go next. If you would like to receive an early copy of the results, indicate your interest at the end of the survey. https://lnkd.in/ergWePPD
