Yesterday I had the privilege of being a keynote speaker at the Army Aviation Conference. The theme was People and Technology, which is something I’m passionate about. As a co-founder of 2iC Limited this is at our core, we focus on making software that delivers real operational value to front line operators. As I presented, tech must enable people, and tech is only good if it does something useful for people. Further building good tech requires people collaborating, especially end-users and technical experts. I firmly believe we must focus on putting the user at core of what we do and make tech enable them. Further, we must prioritise delivering working tech into the hands of users over writing outdated requirements documents. #DefTech is a techUK led initiative to change the way the defence enterprise uses tech and people are central to that. I was really impressed by my hosts for the day, 1st Aviation Brigade Combat Team (BCT). Their professionalism and maturity was excellent, but what stood out the most was their focus from top to bottom to be even better, stronger and more resilient.
