AMA-U recently submitted a comment letter in response to the 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 (𝗦𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗸) 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 issued by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Uganda. Our submission focused on matters relating to governance, accountability, Shari’ah oversight, accounting and reporting considerations, and the broader development of an enabling framework for Islamic capital markets in Uganda. We commend #CMA for adopting a consultative approach in the development of the proposed Guidelines and for creating space for stakeholder participation in this important area of financial sector development. As part of AMA-U’s mandate, we remain committed to contributing to discussions that strengthen the sustainable growth of Islamic finance in Uganda. A copy of our submission is available upon request for stakeholders and interested readers. Noor Nakato Hafsa Tembo Zubedah Namugenyi, MCIArb Eng. Habiba Nanyunja
