Sony’s INZONE Buds are down to $158 at Amazon. They’re the earbud version of the INZONE gaming lineup we covered last week, and since they weren’t discounted at the time, we’re covering the deal separately here.

What you actually get for the money
The INZONE Buds use a low-latency 2.4GHz connection through a small USB-C dongle, which sets them apart from regular earbuds. Bluetooth can introduce enough delay to throw footsteps and gunfire slightly out of sync with the action, while the dedicated wireless link keeps audio and video in step. Sony also includes ANC, based on its headphone technology, instead of relying only on passive isolation.
They also support standard Bluetooth, so you can use the same earbuds with a Galaxy phone without the dongle. That’s what makes them worth considering beyond gaming consoles.
The Galaxy angle
The USB-C dongle is the key feature if you play demanding games on a phone. Plug it into a Galaxy phone with USB-C and you get the same low-latency connection as on PlayStation, which makes a noticeable difference in games where timing matters. If you only play casual games, Bluetooth is fine, and you won’t get much value from the dongle.
The catch worth knowing
The INZONE range is designed for PlayStation, and some features, including spatial audio, are built for PS5. The earbuds also work with phones and PCs, but you’re paying for features aimed at Sony’s gaming ecosystem. ANC can’t match a full-size headset, either.
Is it a good buy?
At $158, the INZONE Buds are discounted from their usual price. They dropped to around $144 earlier this quarter, so this isn’t the lowest price we’ve seen. If you want the low-latency dongle and ANC, $158 is a good price. If you’re only using Bluetooth for casual phone gaming, you can wait.
