Pre-order or pre-register for books, apps & games

You can pre-order select books and have them appear in your library as soon as they're available.

Important: Due to regulatory requirements, Google does not offer pre-orders in India. Content in India will be available on the sale dates.

Pre-order a book

You’ll get an email when your pre-order is placed. You’ll also get a notification or email when the book is available in your library.

Pre-order payments

You will not be charged for your pre-order until the book’s release date. Before then, you can cancel your pre-orders anytime.

If the book is not yet available on the release date, Google will continue trying to deliver it to your library for up to 3 days.

Your pre-order will be canceled if:

• The payment method is declined.
  • Google will check your payment method approximately 2 days before the release date. If there are issues with your payment method, you will be notified.
• You use the Google Play balance as your form of payment and there isn’t enough credit in your account when the item is released.
  • You must have sufficient credit in your account at the time of pre-authorization (2 days before release) and on the release date.
• If your pre-order item isn't available 3 days after the release date, we'll cancel the transaction and offer a refund

If the price of the book on the release day is different from the price when you placed the pre-order, you will be charged the lower of the two prices.

If the item is eligible for Play Points, you'll earn them on the release date.

Check status or cancel your pre-order

Find your pre-ordered books

1. On your Android device, open the Google Play Books app .
2. Tap Library.
3. To find books that you already pre-ordered, tap Upcoming.

Tip: If you subscribe to a series with an upcoming book, you don’t need to pre-order the book again. Learn how to manage your subscriptions.

You can pre-register for select apps and games that aren't out yet and have them installed when they are available.

Pre-register for an app or game

You won't be charged when you pre-register for an item. You’ll receive a notification when the item becomes available to download or install on your device.

1. On your Android device, open Google Play Store app.
2. Tap the item you’d like to pre-register.
3. On the item’s detail page, tap Install.

Check status or cancel your pre-registration

1. Open the Google Play app.
2. Search for the app or game you pre-registered for.
3. Tap Pre-registered Cancel.

Computer

Pre-register for an app or game

You won't be charged when you pre-register for an item. You’ll also get a notification when the item becomes available to download or install on your device.

1. On your computer, go to play.google.com
2. Select the item you want to pre-order.
3. On the item’s detail page, click Pre-register.

Check status or cancel your pre-registration

1. Go to play.google.com.
2. Search for the app or game you pre-registered for.
3. Select Unregister.
