Thinking levels
When using Gemini, you can adjust the depth of reasoning the model uses to generate responses:
- Low: Provides fast, concise answers for straightforward queries.
- Medium: Balances processing speed and reasoning depth for everyday tasks.
- High: Allows the model to carefully process and reason through complex, multistep prompts.
Tips:
- More advanced models and higher thinking levels require more of your usage. Learn more about Gemini Apps limits.
- If you have a Google AI plan and reach your usage limit, your chat will continue with Flash-Lite.
Auto model selection
Gemini Apps uses auto model selection to decide the best model for your prompt. Learn how to turn this feature on or off.
