With a File, it is possible to test those permissions or check if the file is a directory. File has useful functions: isFile(), isDirectory(), listFiles(), canExecute(), canRead(), canWrite(), exists(), mkdir(), delete(). File.createTempFile() writes to the system default temp directory. This method will return a file object that can be used to open FileOutputStream objects, etc. source | |
