  • qm seems to return the product of the parameters. I don't know what the constant a is, but it looks like 1/a would be some sort of distance or length, since 1/a == √(1/2² + 1² + 1/3²). Commented Apr 22, 2013 at 2:57
  • I thought that these are cosines of the directional angles of the axis of rotation, and both 1/2 and 1/3 are, but what is the 1? Commented Apr 22, 2013 at 3:07
