Amazon Web Services is launching one of its largest developer competitions in AWS history—the Global 10,000 AIdeas Competition. Starting December 5, 2025, developers worldwide will compete for $250,000 in cash prizes, AWS credits, exclusive swag, and recognition from AWS leadership across 20 winner categories.

What You'll Build 🚀
Transform your innovative ideas into AI-powered applications using AWS's
cutting-edge tools:

  • Kiro for rapid development and architecture design (required)

  • Strands Agents for building powerful agents in just a few lines of code
    (optional)

  • Amazon Bedrock AgentCore for for quickly and easily deploying and
    running Agentic AI workloads (optional)

  • Amazon Bedrock and Nova for advanced AI capabilities (optional)

Build applications across five impactful tracks:

  • Workplace Efficiency: Automate tasks, enhance collaboration, boost
    productivity

  • Daily Life Enhancement: Smart home apps, personal assistants, lifestyle
    tools

  • Commercial Potential: Industry solutions, enterprise applications,
    revenue-generating innovations

  • Social Good: Environmental impact, healthcare accessibility, education
    technology

  • Personal Expression: Creative tools, digital art, content creation

All projects must be built within AWS Free Tier limits—winning is about innovation and impact, not computational scale.

  3. Create Your Free AWS Account Access all the tools you need within Free Tier limits
  4. Download Kiro Get started with AWS's rapid development tool
  5. Start Ideating Develop your innovative AI application concept
  6. Get Submission in by January 21, 2026 Submit your project idea through the AWS Builder Center form

Timeline

  • December 5, 2025: Competition goes live! (Including the submission form)
  • January 21, 2026: Initial submissions due
  • February 11, 2026: 1,000 semi-finalists announced
  • March 13, 2026: Semi-finalists share prototype articles; community voting begins
  • March 20, 2026: Top 300 advance to next stage
  • April 3, 2026: AWS Experts select 50 finalists
  • April 17, 2026: Finalists submit revised articles; final voting begins
  • April 31, 2026: Winners announced
  • April-September 2026: Winners showcased at AWS Summits worldwide

How It Works

The competition progresses through four exciting stages:

Stage 1: Initial Submission Share your idea (Submission form coming December 5)—what you want to build, how you'll build it, and its potential market impact

Stage 2: Quarter-Finals (Top 1,000) Build your prototype and create an AWS Builder Center article showcasing your work. Community voting determines the top 300

Stage 3: Semi-Finals (Top 300) AWS experts and AWS Heroes evaluate submissions to select 50 finalists

Stage 4: Finals (Top 50) Refine your application and article. Final community voting and expert evaluation determine the 20 winners

Any individual developer or team of up to four members can join! You must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have a valid AWS Builder ID
