  • SLAM scanning with Lidaretto scanners produces accurate 3D data for a variety of professional applications. For example, scanning a highway bridge from beneath and above enables a fast verification of construction progress and precise dimensional checks before opening. With its ability to generate precise data, Lidaretto is an essential tool for professionals in construction, urban planning, and environmental monitoring, making it indispensable in today’s surveying landscape. • When scanning large urban areas — like these streets of Vienna — the most productive setup is mounting a LiDAR scanner on a car and driving. For this workflow, PPK (post‑processed kinematic) is the best scanning method: you can move faster than walking speed and you don’t rely on surrounding features the way SLAM does. The PPK method also ensures homogeneous, survey‑grade accuracy across large areas without the need for ground control points to georeference the output point cloud. Lidaretto scanners support both PPK and SLAM, giving users maximum flexibility to choose the optimal scanning method for their projects. Lidaretto is easy to use, affordable and made in EU. • Lidaretto is an ultra‑versatile 3D scanning system that can be mounted on any moving platform with sufficient payload capacity — cars, drones, bikes, quads, boats, carts, trains, and more. We offer full integration for DJI Matrice drones, including the M300/M350 and the latest M400. Watch the DJI M400 in flight with the Lidaretto H32X scanner. Want to know more? • Capturing 3D interior data with a handheld SLAM scanner is fast and efficient. A 1,000 m² space was scanned with the Lidaretto H32 in handheld SLAM mode in just 40 minutes, producing a crisp, clean point cloud with survey-grade accuracy—ready for downstream use (BIM, as-built surveys, digital twins, reconstruction, real estate, and more). Lidaretto scanners aren’t limited to handheld SLAM. They can be mounted on a backpack, vehicle, or drone to capture scans from any perspective, adapting to the needs of your project. • One major advantage of SLAM scanning with Lidaretto over RTK GNSS surveying is that it works in GNSS‑denied environments. When GNSS is unavailable, traditional surveyors must switch to a total station, which significantly slows the workflow. SLAM scanning with Lidaretto removes dependence on satellite signals, allowing the operator to move freely through the area of interest and rapidly capture detailed 3D data. In this use case, a Lidaretto scanner in a SLAM handheld setup scans the area beneath the bridge with survey‑grade accuracy, producing a clean, highly detailed, and colorized point cloud ideal for inspection or maintenance. • 3D scanning plays a vital role in preserving cultural heritage by giving experts clear, data-driven insight into an historical object’s condition and guiding precise, scientifically based restoration. The Lidaretto scanner is an effective tool for capturing real-world geometry and converting it into accurate digital models. For example, a SLAM handheld Lidaretto setup can rapidly scan a Gothic church—inside and out—producing a high-quality, highly detailed point cloud for professional processing and analyses. The Lidaretto is an ultra-versatile, multi-platform 3D scanning solution designed for capturing reality, made in EU. Unique to Lidaretto is its support for both Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) and SLAM positioning methods, allowing users to choose the most suitable approach for their specific project requirements. Whether you’re on foot, in a vehicle, or airborne, the single scanner unit adapts seamlessly to any mode of transportation. Want to know more? Visit www.lidaretto.com or write to info@lidaretto.com.

  • Let’s be realistic: point clouds capture real 3D space as our eyes see it, but what do you ultimately get from point‑cloud processing? Typically a highly generalized 3D representation or CAD drawing. Millions of points are reduced to a few vector lines that represent edges or connections between key points such as corners and vertices. Lidaretto Creator office software offers a one‑click Edge Detector tool that finds and preserves those edges while removing unrelated points. The result is a much smaller, more manageable point cloud that speeds up handling and processing and makes manual or automatic vectorization into CAD vectors far easier. Lidaretto’s Edge Detector is an ideal tool for converting point clouds —especially those produced by indoor SLAM — into efficient, CAD‑ready data, significantly increasing processing efficiency.
