About us

The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) is the largest national organisation representing the interests of manufacturing and manufacturing-related industries since 1932. Today, SMF is a forefront trade federation serving the manufacturing community by driving digitalisation, innovation-led productivity, business transformation and internationalisation towards enhancing the competitiveness of its member companies. Currently, the SMF has about 5,000 member companies comprising SMEs, MNCs, and affiliate members. Member companies are categorised into 10 Industry Groups and supported by its Associated Services to address each industry’s unique and specific needs and interests. The SMF collaborates with local and overseas government agencies, industry partners and enterprises to provide key services such as representation of members’ views in formal dialogues with the authorities; increasing business opportunities through local and international trade fairs and missions; building capabilities through conferences, seminars, workshops and other industry-specific programmes; and transforming businesses with business model innovation. SMF Community Guidelines 🌏 We’re here to foster open, insightful conversations that benefit the manufacturing community and beyond. To ensure a constructive environment, please note that SMF reserves the right to moderate, delete, or block comments and language that do not align with our community standards. Let's keep discussions respectful, inclusive, and on topic, contributing positively to our shared goals of innovation, collaboration, and growth. Thank you for being part of our community! 💡

It aims to rally rally citizens, organisations and the community to take collective action towards a more environmentally sustainable Singapore. The campaign features a diverse range of sustainability-related activities, programmes, and experiences curated by partners across the People, Private, and Public (3P) sectors. In 2024, Go Green SG saw approximately 200 partners organising 400 activities, engaging around 51,000 participants with a 94% satisfaction rate. Activities included learning journeys, workshops, talks, and hands-on experiences focused on building a clean environment, with clean water and safe food. As Singapore celebrates its 60th year of independence in this year, Go Green SG 2025 will incorporate elements of Connect, Contribute, and Care, encouraging citizens to engage with diverse communities, co-create programmes, and show care through giving or volunteering. SMF encourages its members to participate or organise activities such as guided tours, workshops, green challenges, community clean-ups, and learning journeys to sustainable facilities. Internal initiatives like reducing resource consumption, volunteering with environmental NGOs, and promoting sustainable practices among employees are also welcomed. Participation offers publicity on the Go Green SG website, potential media features, and recognition on the Our Partners page, with selected initiatives highlighted across various channels. 📄 For more details and to get involved, kindly visit the event website: https://lnkd.in/gHhJ-M_v #SMF #GoGreenSG2025 #Sustainability #SG60 #GreenManufacturing #SHIP #EnvironmentalResponsibility

  • 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗠𝗙'𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 (𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗖) Yesterday, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) proudly unveiled the brand-new 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 (𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗖) at our soft launch event! SMF President, Mr Lennon Tan, together with several Council Members and Secretariat, kicked off the launch traditionally by rolling a pineapple into the new space - a cherished Chinese tradition symbolising good fortune, smooth beginnings, and positive energy. This was followed by the opening of GS1 Singapore office, which is located right beside AMIC. The AMIC features meeting rooms, seminar rooms that can be seamlessly combined into a large auditorium - ideal for hosting events, workshops, and seminars. Another highlight is the dedicated showcase area, where SMF members can exhibit their latest innovations. Beyond its facilities, the Centre will serve as a vibrant hub for knowledge sharing, network building, upskilling, and advancing initiatives across SMF’s four SHIP pillars: Sustainability, Human Capital, Internationalisation, and Productivity. We can’t wait to welcome our members and the wider industry community to be part of this exciting journey! • In a shifting global trade landscape, Singapore remains a safe harbour for high-value manufacturing. On 28 April, MoneyFM Morning Shot interviewed, Mr Lennon Tan, President of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) who shared how the latest tariffs and global uncertainties are reshaping Singapore’s manufacturing strategy — and why resilience, talent, and innovation must be our compass moving forward. Lennon highlighted how Singapore’s enduring strengths — from political stability to strong IP protections — continue to anchor global confidence, even amidst tariff waves. 🎧 Hear how Singapore manufacturers are adapting, why SMEs must plan for multiple futures, and how SMF is helping companies lean forward to seize opportunity in uncertainty. Thank you to Audrey Siek and the MONEY FM 89.3 team for the insightful conversation. 👉 Listen to the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/g5tkNKSa #Manufacturing #TradePolicy #SingaporeManufacturing #GlobalBusiness #SMFSingapore #FutureReady #SupplyChainResilience
